Hank Hubbard is a pivotal character within Johnisdead, being the founder of the Lunar Children and the origin of both Kelbris and Patrem. In the 90's, Hank was a member of the Moon Children, where he met the woman who would later become his wife, Diana Hubbard. Together, they adopted Mat Hubbard and had a son named Ben Hubbard. Tragically, Diana passed away while giving birth. Hank's actions after this point are responsible for many events within Johnisdead.
Story
Hank Hubbard was born on July 5th, 1937 in rural Florida. While growing up, Hank became good friends with Jeremy Jarvis and his brother. Later on, Hank fell in love with a woman named Diana. The two eventually married. At some point, Hank and Diana joined the Moon Children, with Hank going by the name "Kelbris". The two lived prosperously, eventually opening a business in a small fishery together. During this time, they were attempting to have a child, but complications kept arising. In 1990, Hank and Diana decided to adopt a child - Mat. Unfortunately, they lacked the resources to raise two children at once, forcing Mat to be separated from his sister Rosa.
Later that year, Diana unexpectedly gave birth to Ben. Unfortunately, Diana passed away during childbirth, leaving Hank to grieve with his two sons. Hank adored Ben, completely neglecting Mat over the following years. In 1998, Hank's mental health slowly began to deteriorate. He began hearing whispers from Luna, who taught him about ascension. When Hank told the other Moon Children of this, he was labelled a blasphemer. Outcast from the Moon Children, Hank left to form his own cult - the Lunar Children. This cult would secretly be housed in his fishery, with a small convenience store acting as a front.
By this point, Mat had presumably already cut ties with Hank. Ben, who had already been inducted into the Moon Children, acted as a "spy" for Hank by keeping tabs on the cult's activities. In 2002, Hank celebrated Ben's birthday by gifting him a Nintendo 64 and a copy of Majora's Mask. His mental health was still worsening, however. On April 23rd, Hank was convinced by Luna and Tenebris to ascend Ben and trap his soul within the Majora's Mask Cartridge. Hank did so, seemingly believing it would only be a temporary imprisonment for his son. Not long after this, Hank was confronted by Mat, who was sent to kill him by the Moon Children. Mat bludgeoned and electrocuted Hank, accidentally resulting in him both ascending into the entity known as Patrem and transcending into the fourth giant Kelbris.

Hank Hubbard (1990): This has been the most enlightening and inspirational experience of my short and yet long life. Even now at age 53 I am but still a child. I spend my more recent days with my now wife Ana, as she prefers, awaiting the birth of my son later this year contemplating the ways of our Goddess. I hope that soon as a family we may together experience the glory of ascension, the euphoria of flying as gods in the realms beyond. To shape worlds as we see fit. Glory unto our most exalted Goddess.
