Mason is former Lunar Child who has assisted the players throughout Johnisdead. First appearing as the cult's recruiter in the YSHDT Arc, Mason allied himself with the players once it was revealed that the Lunar Children had abducted his friend Doug.

Story

Not much is known about Mason's past. Growing up in rural Florida, Mason presumably had a fairly normal childhood. While attending high school, he became good friends with Doug. At some point, he joined the Lunar Children. Though he was never a high ranking individual, the cult appointed him as their local recruiter. On February 15th, 2009, Mason told Doug about the cult and invited him to join. He accepted and attended a Lunar Child congregation in the woods the next day. Later that day, the player Jacob asked Doug if he could join the cult as well. Doug passed him along to Mason, who was quite upset about Doug suddenly inviting new members on his own. Despite this, Mason processed Jacob's recruitment - a process that took longer than usual because the cult saw great promise in him.

On February 20th, the players submitted the "Stone Mask" in an attempt to conceal Doug from an entity that was watching him. This resulted in Mason being unable to see him, making Doug feel ignored. Doug later returned to normal, resulting in Mason apologizing to him for his recent behavior. On March 3rd, Doug was kidnapped by the cult and forcefully transcended into one of the Four Giants. A few days later on March 7th, Mason began posting on Doug's blog, Letschasethemouse, so that he could communicate with the players in an attempt to save his friend.
