Nullspace

The Nullspace, also known as the Sub-Parallelos, is a mysterious, empty realm that exists between the Overworld and the Parallelos of the Dead. The Nullspace is implied to be somewhat digital in nature, overlapping with devices and networks from the Overworld and used to house the Lunar Children's digital constructs.

History

The Nullspace was first introduced on November 5th, 2015 on Lunarchildren.com under the name "Sub-Parallelos". Here, they were described as shadowy, barren reflections of other Parallelos - presumably the Overworld. The Lunar Children claimed that the "Sub-Parallelos" lacked sight and sounds and could be used to quickly travel across the Overworld via a Parallelos Path teaching known as Sub-Traversing.[1]

The Sub-Parallelos was later found on the alternate version of Lunarchildren.com found in 2020. Here, it was referred to by the name "Nullspace" but was described fairly similarly. However, the website also discussed what purpose the Nullspace might serve for Luna, proposing that it may be a natural byproduct of the existence of the Overworld ala the concept of The Dyad.[2]

  1. Lunarchildren.com first mentions "Sub-Parallelos" here.
    • "Sub Parallelos: A realm sans sound or sight, most parallelos have these shadow versions of themselves. Entering them is said to be a fast and sometimes dangerous process which must be handled with the utmost care. However utilization of the knowledge of sub-parallelos can be used to traverse quickly through the connecting main parallelos."
    • "Sub traversing (or jumping): The use of sub parallelos in order to move through a connecting main parallelos (such as Overworld) in usually impossible ways. Similar to the concept of teleportation."
  2. The alternate Lunarchildren.com discusses the Nullspace here.
    • "Nearly every parallelos casts a reflection in the form of "Sub Parallelos" - shadows of pre-existing realms devoid of light and sound. These voids are mysterious places that are still not yet fully understood. While their true purpose is a mystery, those adept with the Parallelos Path have managed to utilize these otherwise barren worlds to quickly travel across the Overworld."
    • "Where exactly the Nullspace falls into Mother's plan is unknown. Many believe that these pocket dimensions are simply natural byproducts of the existence of our parallelos, hence the "shadow" description. Others theorize that the Nullspace best represents the concept of "The Holy Dyad" spoken of by Father Alphonse, believing that these worlds are necessary blights that counterbalance our more orderly realms."
