Story
Not much is known about IsocelesAssassin's past. Being the Astral Timeline incarnation of the player Circlehunter, it can be assumed that the two shared a very similar history. At some point, IsocelesAssassin joined the Astral Internet Detectives and became good friends with Moonman and José. Later on, IsocelesAssassin rescued the entity GHOSTBABEL from the Wyndstrom Institute.[1] From this point onwards, GHOSTBABEL became indebted to IsocelesAssassin and the two became close allies.
In early 2017, Nocta joined the Astral Internet Detectives and befriended IsocelesAssassin. In late 2017, however, Nocta suddenly left. Shortly after this, most of the Astral Internet Detectives were killed off by an unknown entity. The three survivors - IsocelesAssassin, Moonman, and José, all tracked down Nocta. In July of 2018, they discovered that he had created a group known as the Astral Observatory which seemingly held ties to the Lunar Children. The three joined the group and began mingling with the other new users on the Astral Observatory Forums with the hope of putting a stop to whatever Nocta was planning. Here, IsocelesAssassin gained the trust of the others by making memes and participating in a roleplay with Kaiden Zoromichi.
Over time, IsocelesAssassin, Moonmnan, and José managed to infiltrate the Astral Observatory's inner circle in the Subspace. They would often communicate together via IRC chats, where they plotted against Nocta. At one point, José offered his Ocarina powers to Nocta in order to gain his trust. Nocta took him up on his offer, asking him to travel to the Prime Timeline and recover the Lunar Children's servers. José informed IsocelesAssassin of this, who helped him prepare. The two presumably plotted together to work against Nocta's wishes and recover the servers instead to garner more information about the cult rather than further his plans. José then departed on his mission with IsocelesAssassin wishing him well.
On August 24th, Nocta uploaded two strange transmissions to the Subspace. IsocelesAssassin looked further into these transmissions, eventually discovering that they originated from a Hacker Group from an alternate timeline. IsocelesAssassin contacted the group and they formulated a plan involving IsocelesAssassin's ocarina powers. He was to travel back to the year 2009 where he would install a "Transmission Device" for the group.
Upon reaching the year 2009, IsocelesAssassin installed the transmission device atop a cellphone tower located in the park seen in many of the videos on the M channel. Alongside this device Isoceles left a note, seemingly for whoever would check on the device in the future. It was then that he tracked down Mason, trading him an Eight of Clubs card for Helper's Hat. With Helper's Hat in his possession, IsocelesAssassin began trying to steer the players in the right direction on the Within Hubris Forums, becoming known as "The Gray Man". He often spoke through Helper's account, chiding the players for their infighting and encouraging them to unify.
IsocelesAssassin eventually found out that Mason had been trapped in a storm drain. In hindsight, IsocelesAssassin believed that the card he gave Mason "cursed" him in some way. While unable to save his life, IsocelesAssassin was able to trap Mason's "essence" in another device given to him by the Hacker Group. As the Song of Time wouldn't allow for both of them to return, IsocelesAssassin elected to stay in the past with Mason. After a few months, Mason gained the ability to project his thoughts and feelings into IsocelesAssassin's dreams. By mid 2010, he was able to communicate by flashing the light on his device in Morse code.
With IsocelesAssassin unable to return to the future, the pair travelled together for a few years. At some point after December 2nd, 2011, they explored the Fishery and were quickly chased away by Doug. Shortly after this, the two checked up on the transmission device left by IsocelesAssassin and briefly spied on The Spire. However, in the January of 2012, Isoceles and Mason were attacked by a weakened Regiminis, who IsocelesAssassin believes to have been Nocta. After days of running, Mason begged IsocelesAssassin to leave him and return home with the Song of Time. IsocelesAssassin did so, leaving Mason was left to die for a second time.
While it's unknown exactly when IsocelesAssassin returned to the present, he was called back to the Astral Observatory forums on July 26th, 2019 in response to the player Wolfcat submitting the "New Wave Bossa Nova". It was then that he called in his favor with GHOSTBABEL and had her begin helping him and the Hacker Group get the players into the Astral Observatory Subspace. This, by extension, would get the players back into JohnisDead.com. Isoceles initially acted as an enigmatic third party, though he later began directly speaking to the players through the Safe Haven Discord Server in August of 2019. Both he and GHOSTBABEL had a long period of absence after the appearance of BUP.
IsocelesAssassin , alongside GHOSTBABEL and Moonman, returned on April 20th, 2020, ready to carry out their Subspace plans. The Hacker Group had prepared a Data Bomb for the players to use to break into the Subspace. Before it could be successfully sent to the players, however, Pumpkinhead re-emerged, stole the bomb, and deleted the Safe Haven Discord server. This cut of their connection with the players and the Hacker Group. Due to this disruption, in May of 2020, IsocelesAssassin began communicating with the players over the Astral Observatory Forums. Here, he began revealing much of his past and elaborated on certain topics. He also spoke about many of the differences in his timeline's series of events.
Once again, Isoceles' and GHOSTBABEL's communication with the players was disrupted. In the June of 2020, Pumpkinhead took a dead version of Isoceles as his mask, gaining control over his forum account. This Isoceles, unlike the alive one, refused to return to the present when attacked by Regiminis. This dead Isoceles was the one who led the players to the Helper's Hat locked within the Astral Observatory, and is seen speaking to the players in the videos BERAUBT, The Forerunners, and Gratitude of the Precursors. After the players defeated Pumpkinhead, Isoceles regained access to his forum account, and informed the players that he would be heading to Florida to check on Moonman. Once Moonman's life was likely saved, Isoceles and GHOSTBABEL received another transmission from the hacker group. This transmission contained instructions requiring the players to locate and input a code on the Subspace. The instructions were successfully followed, finally establishing a communication point between the players and the hacker group on the Astral Observatory Forums.
Personality
IsocelesAssassin
One of the last of the ID of what becomes like a fleeting dream. A hero in a world never meant to be. What does that reflect as back to the higher planes I wonder? I want to be friends with everyone always and forever personally.
Alternate Incarnations
Other timeline versions of IsocelesAssassin.
IsocelesAssassin in the Prime Timeline is the player Circlehunter.
There seems to be a second incarnation of IsocelesAssassin who hails from the Astral Timeline. This second incarnation of IsocelesAssassin varies enough from this incarnation to warrant their own page - DeadOne.
This second incarnation of IsocelesAssassin seemingly ended up trapped within the Prime Timeline somehow. They were later presumably killed by Regiminis, after which they became the entity known as "DeadOne", who was later used as a mask by Pumpkinhead.
