Helper is a mysterious yet friendly entity that has assisted the players throughout Johnisdead. Described as an Absque Fascie by the Lunar Children, Helper is claimed to have rebelled against his assigned role as Luna's servant. As punishment, Helper was supposedly tasked with being the servant of man for all eternity. This manifests in him acting as a "postman" of sorts, delivering objects for those who call upon him.

Story

Helper's origins aren't exactly clear. The Lunar Children claim that he is an Absque Fascie that once tasked with spreading Luna's testament to mankind in the ancient times before rebelling against her, not wanting to be a servant and instead frolic among man. As punishment, Luna forced Helper to become a servant to man for all eternity. This often manifested in Helper being used as a "postman", delivering goods for those who call upon him. It is believed that the Lunar Children have summoned him in the past, though to do so is often frowned upon due to his blasphemous nature.

Helper was first introduced to the players during the YSHDT Arc on February 22nd, 2015. Though the players were speaking to him from 2015, the current year was 2009 from his perspective - as it was for many characters during this time. Helper appeared on the Within Hubris Forums as a result of the submission PostmanSearch.arg - a video in which the players used the "Postman's Hat" in an attempt to retrieve Doug's notes. This inadvertently resulted in Helper stealing Doug's mail for the players. On March 3rd, Helper returned to deliver Doug's psychology notes to the players via their PM's on the Within Hubris Forums.

The players would not properly communicate with Helper until March 7th, when they summoned him via the "New Wave Bossa Nova". Here, the players asked Helper to save Doug from The Fishery as he had just recently been kidnapped by the Lunar Children. Helper agreed to do so and set off on foot. Around this same time, Mason was also infiltrating the fishery for the same reason. In an attempt to distract the Fishery's guards, Mason tossed a large rock off into the distance. This rock ended up hitting Helper, killing him. Before fleeing from the fishery, Mason retrieved Helper's blood hat.

Now in possession of Helper's Hat, Mason was granted some control over Helper's various accounts, such as his Within Hubris account and the M YouTube channel. Shortly after this, Mason gave the hat to The Gray Man in exchange for a "Eight of Clubs" card. This gave The Gray Man control over Helper's accounts, which he then used to insult and guide the players through. On March 8th, Helper contacted the players in the Internet Detectives Skype Group. Though his physical body had been killed, he still maintained an existence spiritually. Helper would occasionally visit Skype and ask the players to recover his hat, as his delivery abilities were greatly reduced due to its absence.

Unfortunately, the players were unable to recover Helper's Hat on their own. Helper seemingly recovered it himself after DeadOne was killed by Regiminis in 2012. On November of 2015, the players summoned Helper to the Lunar Children Forums. Here, the players tasked him with stealing away Tyler's Crescent Moon Necklace and delivering him a camera. Helper agreed to do so and departed. Helper presumably completed his task sometime in early 2016. He was suddenly attacked by Regiminis, however, resulting in his death. Following this, Regiminis retrieved the Crescent Moon Necklace from his body and gave it back to the Lunar Children. His hat was also sealed within the Parallelos by Regiminis so that he would no longer interfere with any plans.

Helper has not made a reappearance since his death in 2016. At some point, The Gray Man's spirit recovered the hat from within the Parallelos and sealed it away in the Astral Observatory Subspace. The players later accessed this Subspace in 2019 and recovered the hat to give it to GHOSTBABEL as a part of a deal to rescue Moonman. The hat remains in GHOSTBABEL's possession.

Personality

Helper has a very jovial personality, greeting the players in an upbeat manner regardless of the situation. Often referring to players as "adventurers", Helper appears to perceive everything around him as if it were a fantasy game of sorts, referring to "questgivers", "heroines", and "demons". Despite his often cheerful demeanor, Helper often comes off as a bit spiteful and sarcastic in his wording - likely due to him often losing possession of his prized hat.
