Astralobservatory.net is a website owned by Nocta and is the main headquarters of the Astral Observatory. While the site is presented as a simple hub for paranormal discussion, it is actually deeply connected to the Lunar Children, containing a vast underbelly known as the Subspace where more occult beliefs are discussed. The site could possibly be considered a Portal, as it has housed Ascended souls in the past, and it seems to be connected to Johnisdead.com and the Parallelos. The site also contained forums where the players could interact with its various members, which is detailed on its own page here.

History

Astralobservatory.net was first discovered on October 24th, 2018, when players were randomly redirected to it from Johnisdead.com. At this time, the site contained only a small blog ran by its hostmaster, Nocta. Nocta presented the site as if it were simply a place for paranormal enthusiasts to discuss theories of the supernatural and other conspiracies. However, it quickly became apparent that the Astral Observatory held some ties to the Lunar Children.

On October 31st, 2018, the Astral Observatory Forums were opened - a series of message boards where the players could interact with various members of the Astral Observatory, who were sometimes referred to as "Astral Children". Nocta became aware of the players' presence, warning the other Astral Children to welcome the players, but remain cautious. At the time, Nocta revealed that the players held some sort of connection with Johnisdead.com, which he claimed had stolen bandwidth from Astralobservatory.net. Despite this attempt at defamation, the Astral Children still became fond of the players. One in particular, Moonman, began working alongside the players in secret. On June 5th, 2019, the players discovered that one Astral Child, Yuukichan, had been ascended and had her spirit trapped within the website itself. This would later result in the site slowly deteriorating over time due to her presence.

On August 8th, 2019, Nocta caught wind of Moonman's betrayal and trapped him within a pocket of the Subspace - a secretive part of the website where more occult activities and beliefs are discussed. The players managed to break into a section of the Subspace with the help of GHOSTBABEL - a friendly entity that works alongside another Astral Child named IsocelesAssassin. Here, the players managed to find Helper's Hat guarded by what seemed to be a dead version of IsocelesAssassin. Several days later, GHOSTBABEL leaked a transmission from the Astral Observatory that led players to another hidden page. Here, players submitted the Song of Time via their Ocarina. Unfortunately, the players had waited too long to submit this song, resulting in Astralobservatory.net becoming corrupted, as many posts from what appeared to be alternate or hypothetical timelines began appearing.

Shortly after this, the players accidentally submitted the Gameplay, resulting in Astralobservatory.net going completely offline. Fortunately, GHOSTBABEL was later able to bring the site back online, though act allowed Pumpkinhead to enter into the players' realm. The players were able to fully restore Astralobservatory.net by submitting the Inverted Song of Time. This also allowed Moonman to return.

Pursan's map of the "Sanctum" hole.

On April 20th, 2020, the players conspired together with various Astral Children to break into the Subspace using a Data Bomb, which would later allow them to re-enter Johnisdead.com. However, the Data Bomb was stolen by Pumpkinhead, who then proceeded to sever the players' contact with their allies. Fortunately, the players were able to uncover a second Data Bomb the next day, which was then posted in the "Truth" message board by the player ARGdov. The Data Bomb quickly took affect, slowly distorting the site and allowing the players to log into the Subspace using information discovered previously. The Subspace contained various occult beliefs and files uploaded by Nocta and the other Astral Children, though it had all become very corrupted by the Data Bomb. The Subspace also linked players back to Johnisdead.com, which had previously been locked.

On July 25th, 2020, Pumpkinhead challenged the players using his new mask, the dead version of IsocelesAssassin. When the players successfully managed to remove Pumpkinhead's defenses, he hid away in a section of the Subspace known as the "Sanctum" hole - a labyrinth of pages that required many Ocarina submissions to complete. To assist their progression through these pages, an entity named Pursan struck a deal with the players - if they killed three wrongdoers for him, he would provide them with a map of the "Sanctum" hole. The players agreed to do so, obtaining the map. Eventually, the players completed the "Sanctum" hole, resulting in Pumpkinhead abandoning his mask and fleeing Astralobservatory.net.

1. July 28th, 2018 - Welcome to the Astral Observatory

Category: Thoughts

This is a website dedicated to sharing news, opinions, and thoughts from an underground collective that believe in what some may call paranormal or supernatural. We believe in that modern society has pulled a warm blanket over our eyes, trying to lull us into a false reality in which the masses, now imperceptible to the greater machinations of the universe, are more malleable for cooperation.

We have been exposed to some of the truths that shattered that illusion, and now we seek more.

If you are interested in joining us on this journey, bookmark this webpage for further updates, and head on over to our forums for new community of people like us, and we believe, yourself.

2. October 22nd, 2018 - Malicious Attack; Forums Offline

Category: News

Dearest believers,

I have some news you may find unfortunate. On Sunday morning, around 12am, this site was taken offline. I do not know how or why, but during that time our bandwidth was temporarily re-purposed for another website, ‘johnisdead.com’. While I’m not sure why this has happened, I can only conclude it was some form of malicious hack. Please stay patient while I work to get my previous posts on this website back up, and work to restore the forums to their former glory. For now the forums are locked.

We will get through this.

3. October 31st, 2018 - Good news and bad news.

Hello everyone,

I have both good news and bad news to report today, Oct. 31st.

The good news is that soon, our forums will be up and running once again!

The bad news is, most of the our previous posts have become corrupted. I was unable to salvage anything but the protected forum. Some users may need to find that they will need to re-register themselves, even.

We will rebuild.

4. October 31st, 2018 - New users

As the forums come back online, and while our previous users find my previous post and continue to rejoin, there is something I would like to address: new users

We have always been a lightly secluded gathering of folk, but we have always embraced new users and brought them into the fold; there is, however, a small influx of users joining that are related to ‘johnisdead’.

I suppose I knew this would happen, and there’s only one way to address. Welcome them, teach them, and embrace them… with one eye open.

These users will be placed into the ‘Internet Detectives’ usergroup as they are identified (that name is what they already call themselves in other parts of the internet).

Keep lips sealed on certain subjects. Stay wary.

Change their minds.

5. November 24th, 2018 - Website temporarily down, but we're back.

Category: News

Today we had a small DDOS attack on our servers. This caused our account to be temporarily suspended. It would be easy to say it was the “Internet Detectives”, but I can’t be sure that is the case. It would be inappropriate of us to try and assume anything in this instance, so we will move forward, as we have always planned

6. March 2nd, 2019 - Server still acting up

So, it’s come to another pitiful update. For this I am truly sorry, but I am never one to shy away from the status of the website from you, my friends. Due to reasons I still cannot explain we are having our ups and downs with the server. Every time we seem to get this back in working order and things seem to stabilize, something happens and everything seems to start crawling again; last time it happened on January 27th, just over a month ago. Everything should still work but expect some slowdown.

On the brightside, activity in our community generally seems to be in an upward swing. Carpe noctem.

sometimes more treasures are hidden in the chest that lies in plain sight

7. April 12th, 2019 - Forum Spam

So, due to the nature of our interests, I have never required e-mail verification when registering and posting on the forums; however, the amount of malicious bots trying to prey on our boards means that I now have to require it.

8. August 9th, 2019 - Seven years ago...

Seven years is a long time ago, isn’t it? What happened today seven years ago?

8. April 21st, 2020 - WHERE DID YOU GET THAT
