ascended e-girl is an album released by the Astral Observatory Bandcamp on April 13th, 2020. The album contains several extended versions of tracks previously found on Astralobservatory.net, as well as a few secrets.

History

On April 13th, 2020, BUP entered the Internet Detectives Discord Server and began chatting with the players. Here, BUP mentioned that Yuukichan and her problematic Ascended state was preventing the players from accessing the Subspace on Astralobservatory.net. After this, BUP claims he's now playing "a new game" before officially unveiling the Ascended E-Girl album on Bandcamp - implying that it is somehow related to Yuukichan and the Subspace.[1]

Players discovered that the album's creator was listed as "yuuki" and that five physical copies were for sale which were said to come with "a number of other Astral Observatory Records" and an NFC chip containing a pre-loaded dungeon for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening via Amiibo.[2] The digital download of the album featured the unique DIY version of the album's j-card which contained several secrets hidden within it. These included an image of a "Poe in a Bottle" from The Legend of Zelda, a QR code featuring Wolfcat's "Dream" emote, and a cipher that translated to "SKELETONKEY". Scanning the QR code would lead players to the Subspace page on Astralobservatory.net.

Players discovered that the track "aw.wav" contained a spectrogram that revealed an image of Wolfcat's "Dream" emote. A few days later, Yuukichan made mention to "aw" as if they were an individual, posting a familiar looking image of a "Poe in a Bottle" named "aw.gif" and claiming that "aw" needs to be protected. Yuukichan also claims that both she and "aw" need to be saved from a "dungeon".[3] Given the shared similarities of "aw", a "Poe in a Bottle", and a "dungeon", it's likely that these two updates are heavily linked.

On April 18th, 2020, the description for the album on Bandcamp updated, now including an excerpt from Researcher Greth pondering the meaning behind the album and Yuukichan's plight.[4] Unfortunately, due to various complications, the Ascended E-Girl album has still yet to be released physically in full.
