Max is the player-character used by the player Xenquility during BUP's Dungeons and Dragons game. The character Max was created once the previous player who was participating in BUP's game, Slinky, suddenly had to leave.

Story

Max is not a traditional character within Johnisdead. He is actually a character created by the player Xenquility on January 17th, 2020 that was used to take part in BUP's Dungeons and Dragons game after the previous participating player, Slinky, had to leave. Waking up in an inn in the land of Ruskunne. He is quickly revealed to be an assassin who is tasked with killing the leader of a rebel faction named "Inquisitorius Penitus". Max is greeted by Innsman Greth who warns him about an incoming attack by the "Inquisitorius Penitus" and advises him to leave town.

As Max steps outside the inn, he is suddenly attacked by what seems to be a manifestation of Pumpkinhead. During this battle, Yuukichan suddenly appears and tells Max to "find the idol" - most likely referring to Munnin. Pumpkinhead continues attacking, eventually enveloping the town in darkness. Max successfully dodges Pumpkinhead's attacks and flees. After this, the game is put on pause.

Max's journey continued on January 20th. Before Max resumed control, the players were given the Raven statue Munnin - presumably by Yuukichan. After this, Max wakes up in Ruskunne once again, now surrounded by fog. Max is able to use the Munnin statue to travel through the fog as an "Amiibo" rune on the bottom emits light. Max is then confronted by an unknown child-shaped entity that seeks the Munnin statue. His surroundings suddenly go dark as strange sounds echo around him. Max eventually comes across the child-shaped entity once again and begins slipping away. As a last ditch effort, Max uses the Munnin statue, which emits a light-shaped raven that proceeds to enter Max's body. After this, the surrounding darkness is sucked into and infused with the Munnin statue. After this, the game pauses once again.

The game resumed on January 24th. Max is now accompanied by Flint - a character controlled by the player otherLiam. Waking up once again in the outskirts of Ruskunne, Flint and Max make their way through the thick fog before coming across a massive tree. As the two enter it, it becomes apparent that it is actually the "Great Deku Tree" dungeon from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time". The two inspect the large web in the center of the room that is covering a hole leading deeper into the dungeon. Flint manages to burn the web away by using "Alchemist's Fire". Instead of dropping into the hole, however, the two decide to ascend the "Great Deku Tree".

The two come across a chest. Max opens it, revealing a map of the "Great Deku Tree" dungeon. The two then encounter a series of "Wallskulltulla" enemies and manage to fend them off without much trouble. After this, the game is placed on pause until February 3rd, where Max continues his journey with Flint. As the two continue ascending the "Great Deku Tree", they come across a chest with strange, blocky tracks leading to it. As Max opens the chest, the dungeon begins disappearing as BUP seemingly glitches out. Afterwards, The Producer suddenly joins the chat and takes over the game, transforming it into an interactive comic.

Max and Flint then find themselves on a school bus that was seen in a previous game session. The two decide to head to the front of the bus where they have a brief chat with Tyler. Initially put off by their appearances, Flint manages to convince Tyler that they are simply cosplaying. After chatting about conventions for some time, Tyler abruptly leaves as the bus has reached his stop. Max then suggests that he and Flint go sit with Erik at the back of the bus instead. Once they arrive at Erik's seat, however, they find only a "Nine of Clubs" card and a "Poe in a Bottle". As Max reaches out to touch the "Poe in a Bottle", the game is suddenly paused as The Producer begins chatting with the players. After this, BUP ends the Dungeons and Dragons campaign.

Summary

Summary

  • The Dungeons and Dragons game continues where it left off with Max and Flint scaling the "Great Deku Tree". The two come across a strange chest that seemingly warps them back to the school bus found in a previous Dungeons and Dragons session. Here, the two briefly chat with Tyler before attempting to go check on Erik. Here, they find a "Nine of Clubs" card and a "Poe in a Bottle", which seems to interrupt the game as The Producer begins chatting with the players.
