William Reynolds is a minor character who was first introduced during The Truth Arc. William is a Moon Child who later defected to the Lunar Children after making contact with Hank Hubbard.
Story
Not much is known about William's past. In the year 2000, his life took at dark turn when his brother Justin was diagnosed with lung cancer. After the failure of many attempted treatments, all William could do was watch his brother suffer. William could not stand to witness this, however, leaving his brother to die alone. This resulted in William being labelled a cruel monster by his family. His mother later took her own life, resulting in his father becoming depressed, responding to William only with disdain and fury. In 2001, William found refuge in the Moon Children, who welcomed him with open arms.
Over time, William heard stories of how Hank Hubbard claimed to speak to Luna and got cast out from the cult. William learned that Hank's son, Ben, was still a member of the cult as well. He took note of how Ben began displaying strange properties, claiming that he would almost "blink in and out of reality" at times. William was unconvinced of the Moon Children's narrative surrounding Hank. He was eventually approached by Jeremy Jarvis, who told him the whole truth. After this, William sent Hank a letter with the hopes of joining the Lunar Children, offering to divulge some of the Moon Children's secrets if necessary.
It is implied that William was successful, as he was later deemed a traitor by the Moon Children.[1]
Personality
William is a man burdened with regret and guilt stemming from his past. He now finds solace only in Luna and the hopes of finding redemption through her.

William Reynolds (2001): Luna has helped me through such dark times. For those of you who know, my brother was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. He suffered for a full year with no hope of recovery and had no positive reaction to the treatments. Due to complications one of his lungs collapsed a month ago. The beeping of the heart monitor, him wheezing between cries for help “It hurts mom it hurts!” “Will, please don't leave just yet, I'm so scared”, Was too much for me to bare. I know why I was forsaken, I just could not take seeing it anymore. I could not be there to watch him die and now he is gone. I felt alienated in my own home, labeled a cruel monster for my incapacity for my brothers suffering. My mother could not cope, and after a long nearly catatonic state of despair ended her own life. After the suicide of my mother coupled with the death of my brother, my dad descended into a chronic state of depression and drunkenness. He had no tolerance for me, a sick weakling. Had I not found my true family I would not know what to do with myself. I hate it, I just fucking hate it. Everything my life was before now. But with Her I am at last free and I know with Her power, She can mend all that has been broken. I am sorry Justin, I am so sorry. When She brings you back, please forgive me. Please. I miss you bro. I love you.

"Your son is still here. Ben? He's strange in ways the others aren't ever really able to describe. It's like he both is and isn't here at times, as if he is blinking in and out, wandering off and disappearing then reappearing without warning. It's odd. It has something to do with you and your connection to Her, doesn't it? I knew it had to be a lie, none of the stories lined up. That's when Jarvis spoke to me and told me everything."
