The story so far...

In the previous section, players jumped ahead to the present - 2015. Here, they were introduced to a much larger and complex world as the inner-workings of the cult and those connected to it were laid out before them. The players were once again approached by Drowned, who was still fleeing from Patrem. Drowned led them to a new website that was filled with ascended spirits - Johnisdead.com. This came as a shock because John was the name of one of their fellow players. Shortly after this, the players were introduced to SKM - an odd hacker who was fighting against the cult. SKM proceeded to reveal a great deal of information to the players:

Three of the players were now gone - John, Jacob, and Tyler. John was the Burned One mentioned by Patrem. He died on the night of the ritual that he and the Flying Child interfered with - November 11th, 2011. This ritual was the ascension of the Grand Child, whose real name is Regiminis. Jacob went missing at some point before all of this. Meanwhile, Tyler was perfectly fine - though his memories of the YSHDT Arc and the players had been removed by Patrem.

SKM reveals that he's allied with Drowned, though he isn't sure who or what they are exactly. The two are fighting against Patrem's cult - the Lunar Children. Originally, the Lunar Children and the Moon Children were one-in-the-same. However, due to some sort of schism, members of the Moon Children left the cult to form the Lunar Children. This came as a shock to many players as they had mistakenly believed they were interacting with the Moon Children this entire time.

Right now it seems that Regiminis and Patrem are attempting to capture Drowned and John. Though Tyler is not in any immediate danger, the cult is planning on sacrificing him at some point. Thankfully, SKM revealed that Tyler will soon become active on a YouTube channel titled Silentdork, which will give the players an opportunity to contact him. If they play their cards right, they may be able to restore his memories and help him avoid his terrible fate...

Story

On May 20th, 2015, Johnisdead.com updated with text reading "JOHNIS" and an image showing the remains of a burned home titled "HOME.jpg" - a grisly reminder of John's fate.

Due to the chaotic events that took place a few nights prior, the amount of new information dropped on the players, and rising tensions due to in-fighting, the players were beginning to feel a bit lost. To let off some steam, several Internet Detectives began teasing the player Mugen Kagemaru, tricking him into believing that they were creating a separate player group that was loyal to Patrem. Mugen took this seriously - so much so that he posted a veiled threat to tear the player Wolfcat's arm off.

Thankfully, on May 21st, 2015, a familiar face returned to greet the players amidst the chaos.

Helper claims he was sent to assist the players - presumably due to the in-fighting and lack of direction. However, the Internet Detectives seem too pre-occupied with trolling their fellow player Mugen Kagemaru, whose ridiculous claim of having lost an arm led to the creation of some ironic fanart:

Later that night, Zack Nelson discovered that Johnisdead.com had updated once again. The page now contained a strange mish-mash of colors titled "hewaits.jpg". The audio on the page, "FRIEND.mp3", featured a deep voice saying "An old friend would like to speak to you." - presumably referring to John. Further exploration revealed that Key592 had also updated, now featuring an image of an old building titled "DELAPITATED.jpg".

Shortly afterwards, SKM returned to Within Hubris with an important message for the players.

Patrem seems to be in some sort of weakened state as his posts become less coherent and more encoded in ciphers. SKM uses this to his advantage and posts a giant block of code that translates to "592" - a reference to Key592 on Johnisdead.com. This seems to damage Patrem even further:

Patrem's state deteriorates further as the players taunt him. Upon checking Key592, players discovered a new image - "tempdrezzed.png", a distorted version of Patrem's avatar. It seems that SKM had taken advantage of Patrem's weakened state and trapped Patrem within Key592.

With Patrem temporarily out of commission, this gave players the perfect chance to contact Tyler. Just in time, too, as Tyler began uploading videos to Silentdork shortly after this exchange. The first of these uploads was titled "Jacob".

Description

I honestly forgot I even had this video, but in the panic to save shit on my hard drive I am glad I found it. If you see this man, I really miss you. Lets hang out and smoke again when we get the chance.

Kevin moves the planchette over 'Yes'.

Tyler: "(Sighs) You know why I think this isn't working? Probably because we came out here for spooky moon energy and yet we seem to have no..."

Tyler points the camera into the night sky. No moon is seen, but an image of the moon from Majora's Mask is barely visible.

Kevin: "Maybe you need to focus more on the game. What if something happens while you're focusing on the sky?"
Tyler: "...Good point."
Kevin: "Alright... Let's try it for real. Don't fucking move the thing by itself."
Tyler: "Alright."
Kevin: "Alright, now ask a question."

This video contains more footage taken from the same night as the video above. This time, Tyler, John, and Kevin are attempting to contact spirits by using an Ouija Board. Unfortunately, they're too busy goofing off with one another to achieve any sort of paranormal contact. This video's description implies that Kevin eventually disappeared as well, leaving Tyler the only remaining person within his friend group.

Eager to begin speaking with Tyler once again, players began posting comments on his YouTube videos, wording their questions carefully as to not scare him away.

Considering that Tyler, Jacob, and John were all participating in the YSHDT Arc together, it can be assumed that they were actually communicating with the players from the year 2009 - just like Doug and Mason. This is because it'd be impossible for John and Jacob to be participating in 2015 like the other players since John died in 2011 and Jacob disappeared sometime before 2010.

However, he closed it down because strange individuals kept following him - possibly Lunar Children. He also says he has an old Skype account - presumably the same one that he used to chat with the players back in 2009.

I preferred windwaker myself, but john and kevin both liked majoras mask the most. However my favorite games series is actually silent hill.

The players continue to build the narrative that they're regular internet-goers in an attempt to keep Tyler's suspicions to a minimum.

Meanwhile, players discovered that Johnisdead.com had updated. The front page now featured two videos - a short corrupted video of John titled "FIREKID.webm" and a heavily distorted video of two people walking down a street titled "FOG.webm".

Shortly after this, the player Wolfcat discovered a new page - "https://johnisdead.com/lunar". Though this page was initially blank, it would occasionally update with new text:

"Wait"

"I'm in the phone lines"

"Nothing could stop the irritation"

"Fire... burning flesh and melting bones..."

It seems that the players were finally speaking with John's departed spirit. Suddenly, John's old account initiated a call within the Internet Detectives Skype group. Unfortunately, it ended immediately before anyone could answer it.

"...I cannot speak..."

It seems John could only communicate though small, cryptic messages on Johnisdead.com. In response, the player Wolfcat suggested submitting the "New Wave Bossa Nova" in an attempt to help John speak. However, John replied with the following:

"Your old ways will not work..."

Seeing that John could view the players' messages within the Skype group, they began communicating with him more directly:

The players' conversation with John was cut short. It seems as though one of the countless other spirits contained within Johnisdead.com hijacked the webpage and began replying in his place. Unfortunately, the players were right back where they started.

As if to taunt them, Johnisdead.com updated once again on May 23rd, 2015 with the image "NOTTHEONE.jpg" - a large disturbing image of John's face.

On May 24th, 2015, "https://johnisdead.com/tyler" updated. The page now featured a series of phone dials that spelled out a hidden message - "To bring him back". Shortly after this, the page updated again, now featuring a link to an email address hosted on Johnisdead.com - "pididoip@johnisdead.com". Interestingly, the name associated with this account was simply "K". The players began emailing this account, resulting in some... interesting conversations.

The players are approached by one of the many entities housed within Johnisdead.com - George. George describes Johnisdead.com as a "Portal" that houses many spirits. He explains that these spirits may even hijack the conversations players are having, meaning they'll be talking to one entity one second and then another the next. This is similar to what happened a few nights prior when the players were speaking to John only for another spirit to replace him moments later.

George also presents the player ADULT_LINK with a glass of chocolate milk - or an image of one, at least.

Later that night, the Internet Detectives Skype group saw a surprise visitor - Tyler. It seems he had finally logged into Skype and taken up the players' offer to join their chatroom.

On May 25th, 2015, Johnisdead.com updated with more references to phonelines. The front page now read "CALL BACK LATER".

The next day on "May 26th, 2015", the site saw more updates. The front page now featured a simple dial tone and the text "PICKUP". This led to the discovery of a new page - "https://johnisdead.com/pickup" - another empty directory similar to Key592.

After a while, Pickup updated with the "_o_n__urned.png" image from earlier. However, the file was now titled "(727).png" - the first part of a phone number. Pickup continued updating throughout the day as the file "otherline.txt" was added, which read "1 5 6 - 0 ascending twice. a number you've already known". It seems the players were being asked to guess a phone number...

the players were already given three numbers - (727). This was a Floridan area code, meaning they should be at the beginning.

They were also given four more numbers - albeit with a catch. 156-0. The "Ascending twice" hint could be implying that these numbers need to be increased by two, giving the following: (727)-378-2.

The final hint, "A number you've already known", could only be referring to two numbers - 423 or 592. After some trial and error, the players finally found the correct phone number - (727)-378-2592.

Throughout this process, John's Skype account briefly became active and gave the players more hints. This, combined with the fact that John was previously said to dwell within the phonelines, seems to hint that this was John's old phone number.

The players gathered in the Internet Detectives Skype group and called the phone number. The number picked up and began playing "@90 by K3v1n" from Johnisdead.com before hanging up. Upon calling this number a second time, the players were met with a demonic laugh... Afterwards, the number would not respond - at least, not via calls. Players who dialed this number on their personal phones began receiving text messages from it.

Strangely, the entity speaking over the phone claims that Tyler hid in these woods - though it doesn't reveal when or from what. It also claims that Tyler lives near the Fishery, which is concerning... Shortly afterwards, this entity begins acting even more odd.
