The story so far...
In the previous section, Mason finally updated the players after several days of silence. Here, Mason informed them that he met The Gray Man - an enigmatic time traveler who gave him an "Eight of Clubs" card in exchange for Helper's Hat. This granted The Gray Man access to the "M" YouTube channel and Helper's Within Hubris account. The Gray Man proceeded to use these accounts to chide the players for their in-fighting and lack of organization.
Meanwhile, Patrem shared more information regarding Vincent. He explained that upon joining the cult, Vincent lost his memories. However, over time, Vincent became a very prominent member of the group - even achieving the rank of "Overseer". During an important ritual for another cultist dubbed "The Grand Child", something went awry due to the interference of two outsiders.
Though what exactly transpired during this ritual isn't revealed, it resulted in Patrem becoming trapped in Vincent's body. Patrem is only able to take control whenever Vincent falls asleep. During one of his conversations with the players, Patrem is suddenly cut off as Vincent awakens, resulting in a brief, confused conversation. It seems Patrem's presence within Vincent has caused him to lose his memories once again, meaning he has no knowledge of the cult nor Patrem's presence within him.
Eventually, Mason decides to return to the Fishery to locate Doug. In an attempt to assist him, the players summon Rosa, who warns them all of an upcoming battle and a difficult choice. When Mason finally made it to the Fishery, he made a startling discovery...

A corrupted message is posted to Letschasethemouse - presumably from Mason. Confusingly, this post seems to have two conflicting messages. The first seems to have Mason acting somewhat casually, calmly saying that he's just going to go home. However, the second has him asking for help and telling the players they shouldn't trust someone. The confusion only grew as Doug suddenly returned to reclaim his blog:

Hello, guys. It's been a while.
Mason's off running with his tail between his legs. I need your help.
He's going to try to convince you I am the bad guy. I'm not. I'm just trying to escape. And I need your help.
Mason is kinda getting in the way of it. He's luring you guys away from me with his lies and wit. I didn't even know he was capable of this.
Everything is fine with me, they are keeping me captive and questioning me about you guys, but they haven't done anything else. It's been kind of harsh, but I guess they would be that way, huh?
I've been told of your powers, and it makes sense, considering all the crazy stuff that's happened to me while I was in contact with you guys. I need you to send Mason far away, and I need you guys to help me again.
I'm sure you will have time to plan things out.

Doug says that he's fine and that the cult has simply been asking him about the players. He also claims that Mason has been lying to them and that they need to use the Ocarina to send him far away. The players were immediately suspicious of Doug. His story didn't really line up and the sudden antagonism directed at Mason was uncharacteristic to say the least. The concerning notes and threats from Doug found on YSHDT.com didn't exactly help either.
As if things weren't hectic enough, the player Dawn suddenly submitted the "Song of Unhealing" - an obviously dangerous song with many negative connotations. This resulted in the Internet Detectives Skype group erupting into chaos as many different users began arguing with one another. During the fighting, The Man rejoined the Skype group to make the following announcement:

Mugen is freaking out about a song you'll probably not allowed to be activated.
I would like to inform you all that Dawn traded the power to play powerful songs about two days ago.
His song does not count. He actually personally contacted me just to make sure.
I would also like to inform you all that you do not have the same power to trade away your song ability.

The Man informs the players that Dawn's submission will not take effect because he traded away his ability to use the Ocarina a few days prior. This is presumably what The Man wanted to discuss with Dawn in private. Interestingly, The Man claims that no other players will be able to trade away their Ocarina powers... Meanwhile, something odd occurred in the player Wolfcat's webcomic, "Weenie-Licked". As mentioned previously, the infamous red dot from YSHDT.com appeared in this comic as a character named Fred. In the comic's latest update, Fred seemed to relay a canon message from Helper:
He is not who you think he is.
He is lying to you.
Do not be fooled, Adventurers.

After some casual banter, The Man gives the players a choice: Doug or Mason - specifically, their save files. This seems to imply that the players are choosing which character will be their Link and therefore the target of their Ocarina powers.

I do not wish for a vote. I had figured you guys may have came to a consensus already.
Instead I will choose three "proxies", and they will tell me their choice.

The Man chooses three players to decide which save file to choose - Mando, Circle, and Wolfcat. The fact that three players were to decide the fate for the entire group was a contentious one - especially considering the fact that Mando and Circle specifically had been labelled "demons" by Helper. This led to arguments that questioned whether some players held an unfair amount of power over others.
Regardless, on March 30th, 2015, the three proxies began discussing the issue. While the player Wolfcat was initially dead-set on selecting Mason, the player Circlehunter was undecided. This is when the player Mando began explaining why they should choose Doug. They argued that, with Doug as their link, they'd be able to learn more information about the cult. Also, the players would be able to stop him if he attempted anything malicious since their Ocarina powers would directly effect him.
The three proxies proceeded to cast their vote on Within Hubris:

Yesterday, The Man appointed 3 Proxies to make a vote on the direction we would like to go in next.

In the event of a proxy not being present to vote, Oceanstuck was chosen to be a backup.

The Man claims that he's not the player Mando - nor is he any prior member of Within Hubris. When asked how he knows what's taking place within the players' chatrooms he simply answers that he has a "helper". Much to everyone's chagrin, The Man reveals that there were other choices besides Doug or Mason that the proxies could have selected.

The cameraman briefly turns around and observes the woods, which causes the footage to darken slightly. The cameraman then begins walking along a path next to the cellphone tower. The footage cuts once again. The cameraman is now walking along a road that leads directly to the cellphone tower. The cameraman slowly turns around, resulting in the footage corrupting loudly. The video then cuts several times as the cameraman runs towards the cellphone tower. The footage suddenly cuts to another shot of the woods as a loud scream can be heard. A disturbing, eyeless face can be seen for a brief second along with the text "s0K0lt".
The video cuts to black for several seconds before more footage of the cameraman running towards the cellphone tower is shown. The cameraman finally reaches the cellphone tower. They observe the gate surrounding it for a bit before the video goes black. Sounds of someone climbing over the fence can be heard. The video remains black for several seconds before a link to a Vocaroo file is shown:

This video seems to be a continuation of The Gray Man's journey through the woods as he approaches a cellphone tower while being chased by something. Near the end of the video, a link to an audio file containing an SSTV signal flashes on screen. This signal translated to an image of "The Fool" Tarot card overlaying an "Eight of Hearts" playing card. The connection between the "Eight of Hearts" card and the "Eight of Clubs" card are currently unknown...
Meanwhile, back in the Internet Detectives Skype group, discord regarding the proxies' decision to choose Doug was growing. Tensions had risen once again and players were at each other's throats. This led to a response from The Gray Man on March 31st, 2015".

That foolish girl has damned herself, she and her brother started on the wrong path and never attempted to correct this. Her toungue is that of lies and she is a blind whore. Ask me not of her again for she and her kin are nothing but ignorant fools.
Patrem is still unwilling to divulge more information regarding Doug. However, he offers to tell the players more about what's to come in the future. In the meantime, the player Helix brings up Rosa - someone who Patrem seems to have a strong distaste for. He claims that she and "her kin" started on the "wrong path". What exactly this means is unknown, though her "kin" is likely referring to her brother Mat.

Players attempt to ask Patrem about Mason. However, he seems unwilling to answer anything else and instead gives them a cryptic telling of what's to come.
Patrem claims that a Portal will be opened. This portal was created by someone called Saint. He also claims that the previously mentioned Grand Child controls it. Though he does not divulge the name of this portal, he claims it was named after someone's terrible fate. Patrem mentions someone who is seeking the "Burned One". This same individual also wants to kill the Link, believing that these things will help him gain more power. With that, Patrem departs to partake in a ceremony - one that he implies will involve a human sacrifice.
However, during the middle of the conversation above, the player Stevey was contacting Patrem via PM's on Within Hubris:
Mugen constantly acts above everyone else.. he also erm.. claimed you were a "worthless buffoon" thought you should know.
I am aware of this child, I see him even now.
"I'm already smelling the ashes"
He knows not the child that burns
There is no time to wet the ashes now
Patrem mocks the player Mugen Kagemaru by scoffing at something he posted in the Internet Detectives Skype group - "I'm already smelling the ashes". In response, Patrem says that Mugen does not actually know who the aforementioned "Burned One" is. He also implies that the "wet the ashes" line he spoke a few months prior was in reference to this "Burned One" - though it's now too late for the players to change fate.

And yet he hides, the grand child clings to me as he as the burned one hides. Grand and yet weak, you have already heard his name, but his new name will be spoken in time. The burned one is beyond us yet works within my dominion, he seeks to communion with one who is flying, who is of the water. He screams loudly, he is but a nuisance.
Speak to me no more of this screaming burned child.
He is not mason nor douglas, he is one of you.
Patrem claims that the players already know the name of the Grand Child. However, he now supposedly has a new name - presumably one given to him by the cult, much like Vincent. Patrem also reveals that the Burned One is one of the two outsiders who interfered with the Grand Child's ritual - specifically, he is the one who Patrem described as "Screaming". The Burned One is supposedly attempting to contact the other outsider - the one Patrem described as "Flying". According to Patrem, this other outsider is associated with water.
Before departing, Patrem reveals that the Burned One is not Doug or Mason - he is actually one of the players.
On April 5th, 2015, players began fearing the possibility that Mason was the one who was going to be sacrificed in Patrem's ceremony. This resulted in the following response from Patrem:

You foolish children, this affair has nothing to do with mason.
The players interpreted this as an implication that Doug was going to be sacrificed instead. In an attempt to save him, they submitted a video titled "Jailbreak.wmv". This video featured Link dancing with "Kamaro's Mask" in an attempt to distract the cultists followed by the "Song of Soaring" to warp Doug away. After this, the "Song of Storms" and "Sun's Song" are played.
This resulted in Patrem chiding the players once again as he confirmed that Doug was never in any danger:

Helper informs the players that Mason is currently trapped within a storm drain - one that is flooding due to a sudden downpour. This is likely an unintended effect of the submission of "Jailbreak.wmv". Helper passes along a message from Mason, though it's one that is distorted due to Mason's gurgling - "Tt lmhiw eemic elo". The cult is supposedly preforming various sacrifices and orgies in an attempt to venerate Luna, though Patrem finds these attempts foolish. He provides an audio recording of these events, though it is somewhat distorted. Meanwhile, the player Stevey continues chatting with Patrem via PM's.
Why would they do that? .. did someone tell them to sacrifice their blood for Luna? I dont understand why such madness would overtake them so suddenly..
Also, what sort of voices (before the chanting) were mixed up in that vocaroo file you sent to us?
The child who acts as overseer while the fishery overseer is away was the one who spoke in the beginning. I was not physically present, for I was baring witness to a much more important ceremony on the night of the blood moon, the true blood moon ritual.
As for what he said: "As I stand here on this most holy of nights, what pours from my arm is spilled in her name." He did not leave the fishery that night, silly child.
Okay, thank you.. what is involved in the true blood moon ritual...? the others claim (in the call group) that they can hear some of their own voices mixed in there too, during the begining. Oceanstuck claims she can hear her recent "happy birthday" to a thorin in there.. more nolstalgia again..?
Nothing but the cries of my children, seeking favor from their mother. As for the true blood moon ritual, it was filmed to be added to our holy archive which is currently under reconstruction after an incident that occurred shortly after august of 2012 in your time.
Patrem reveals that the sacrifices and orgies were taking place at the Fishery on the night of the "Blood Moon". He also adds that the individual who sacrificed himself during the recording was simply another cultist who acted as a temporary Overseer whenever the true Overseer is away.
Patrem himself was not at the Fishery - instead, he was at another location preforming what he describes as the "True Blood Moon Ritual". He claims that footage of this "true ritual" was recorded so that it could be saved within the cult's "holy archive" - presumably a website. Patrem says that this website is currently being reconstructed after it was destroyed shortly after August of 2012 - a date that mysteriously lines up with the destruction of the original Within Hubris on August 8th, 2012.
Later in the day, players discovered that YSHDT.com had updated. The front page now contained audio of rainfall, text describing the process of drowning, and an image of a storm drain titled "help.jpg" - all grim reminders of Mason's impending doom.

The page "http://yshdt.com/news" had also updated, now featuring another cryptic newspaper article:

Keen-eyed players also realized that this article featured several misplaced capitalized letters that spelled out "COME" - a discovery that led players to a new page, "http://yshdt.com/come", which contained the following disturbing image:
The map of the players' locations had morphed, now featuring black, shadowy hands grasping towards them. Interestingly, Ohio, West Virginia, and Florida were all circled, implying these locations all held some degree of significance...
The page "http://yshdt.com/yes" had also updated. The Red Dot that was previously on this page was now accompanied by an image of a gas mask and Japanese text:
WARNING: Long-term exposure to rear of factory may cause death or illness. You must wear protective gear in the area. Please remember more than anything else for your future safety.
This appeared to be a warning sign for some sort of factory. This image was accompanied by an SSTV signal, though it would remain unsolved for several days...
