Story

Doug was raised in Florida near the Fishery. Though not much is known about his early childhood, it is known that he became good friends with Mason. By 2009, the who had enrolled in the same high school together. Douglas also had a job around this time, though he never revealed what it was - only that it left him unfulfilled. At some point, Douglas ran a blog online that he was later forced to re-create for unknown reasons on February 13th, 2009. This blog was titled Letschasethemouse and Doug went under the alias "DandP" while posting on it.

On February 15th, Mason told Doug about the Lunar Children and asked him to join. The next day, Doug attended a Lunar Children congregation in the woods. This sparked his curiosity in the cult and he soon became an enthusiastic follower of their teachings. Shortly after this, the players began contacting Doug from the present - 2015, where they attempted to convince him to leave the cult. Douglas did not take their word, however, believing that the Lunar Children were his true, genuine friends and would never harm him. One player in particular, Jacob, lived close enough to the fishery to be offered a position in the cult. Doug passed Jacob along to Mason, who often processed new recruits.

On February 17th, Doug was taken to the Fishery for the first time. He claimed the place seemed familiar and that he had to hide to take the pictures - the first hints of the cult's malicious and secretive nature. A couple days later on February 19th, Mason had gotten upset about Doug suddenly issuing Jacob as a new recruit. After this, Doug was instructed to keep away from the Lunar Children and the fishery for some time while the cult sorted some things out. The next day, Doug's house began flooding thanks to a torrential downpour caused by the players' submission of the "Song of Storms". The rain ceased when the players submitted the "Song of Storms" again.

Fearing that the fishery might be flooded, Doug departed for the woods. Once he arrived, he found that the fishery was still in good condition, but he felt as though he were being watched as he explored its grounds. Fearing for his safety, the players submitted the "Stone Mask", successfully rendering Doug invisible. This had the adverse effect of having everyone ignore him, though, making Doug depressed. The players then swapped the "Stone Mask" for the "Mask of Truth". This resulted in Doug responding to the players in a stilted, aggressive manner, as it now seemed as though Doug were speaking from another point in time.

Shortly after this, Doug returned to normal and his friends apologized for ignoring him. Around this time, players were hinted that they needed to retrieve Doug's notes from school. They attempted to do so by using the "Postman's Hat". This only resulted in them accidentally stealing his mail, however. This was unfortunate for Doug because he claims an "important religious package" was included in said mail. Around this time, Doug began showing the signs of the Transcended, hearing random whispers and writing down the words that Luna spoke to Kelbris in his notes. Later that day, players were able to convince Doug to give them his notes, where they would see some of these doodles themselves.

On March 3rd, Doug was taken by the cult and forcefully Transcended, becoming the first giant. From that point onwards, Doug was held at the fishery. Fearing for his safety, Mason took over his blog and began working alongside the players in an attempt to rescue Doug. After attempting to conjure up various different plans to rescue Doug, Mason was finally allowed to see him on March 25th, where he first witnessed Doug's new transcended form.

After this, Doug resumed control of his blog. He informed the players that Mason had been lying to them and that he was normal, claiming that the Lunar Children were holding him captive and asking questions about the players. Doug asked the players to use their Ocarina on him - presumably so that they would inadvertently give him more power. The players were unconvinced, however, believing Mason over him. Despite that, they still chose to select Doug as their Link over Mason, believing they would have more influence over him with their Ocarina powers should they need to go on the offensive.

Players discovered a threatening message from Doug on YSHDT.com announcing that Mason was now his enemy. From the players' perspective, contact with Doug was cut off completely on May 3rd when Doug discovered that the players held forbidden knowledge regarding one of Mason's devices. This resulted in Doug becoming hysterical and severing his ties with the players. It is assumed that for the next several years Doug remained guarding the fishery.

Personality

Douglas P.

The emmisary of acquisition. A part of the eternal cycle of four cosmic units much like that of creation. For creation to continue some things must be stolen. Light to dark, dark to light, forever and ever. Like the floor of a chess board the ocean I see.

Also the normal man is good friends with a man named Mason so now I am having a major third eye moment LOL
