<div class="storyMidpoint"><div class="storysofar"><h2>The story so far...</h2>
<poem>In the previous section, Patrem finally returned to Within Hubris after a long absence - though the circumstances surrounding this were a bit confusing. As far as the players knew, Patrem should still be trapped inside of Greth... Additionally, this version of Patrem seemed far less condescending and was instead somewhat humble - albeit far more cryptic and esoteric.

Patrem had supposedly become lost in the Parallelos at some point after 2016. Here, he met the Rune Entity, who was revealed to be a powerful mage named Synchron. Patrem is now following Synchron's teachings, which has granted him a great deal of knowledge regarding the true nature of his reality. Additionally, Synchron himself communes with an absolute god-like being called "The Great Author" - someone who Patrem claims is above even Luna in terms of power and influence. Afterwards, Patrem began cryptically speaking about future events:

Someone - presumably Tyler - will meet Synchron atop some sort of "City". They will also meet "The GIRL", who is supposedly Tyler's anima. Synchron wishes to bestow Tyler some sort of "Spear". Patrem also mentions the existence of "Three Runes" and "Four Treasures" - all of which will lead to the retrieval of some sort of "Grail". Afterwards, he mentions a "Tower" that will lead to a "Tree" where Tyler will supposedly defeat Tenebris. However, all of this was laced in heavy symbolism and details were scarce...

Patrem also mentioned various other esoteric concepts as well. These included <span class="altTooltip2">"The Orchard"<span class="tooltiptext2">A concept most likely referring to the Moon Children's old headquarters as well as a mysterious Hebrew myth.</span></span>, <span class="altTooltip2">"The Book"<span class="tooltiptext2">A concept most likely referring to both the "Libro Lunarus" and possibly fate itself.</span></span>, and "The Machine" - presumably the same "Machine" that Tyler himself is currently trapped within. Patrem implies that he himself is also currently within "The Machine", though what exactly this means on a literal level is unknown... Patrem also revealed some more information about <span class="altTooltip2">"The Fourth World"<span class="tooltiptext2">Just as the players, Patrem always knew of "The Fourth World" as Luna's Parallelos. However, he now claims that Synchron is the holder of it and that the realms of "The Great Author" extend beyond it.</span></span> and "Dream Spheres", which he describes as "Realms" for "Those who generate", implying that they're connected to the concept of creation itself. Interestingly, an old message from an out-of-character Tyler suggested that "Dream Spheres" may hold some meta-relevance as well, as he implied that different GM's have their own "Dream Spheres".

Afterwards, the players were contacted by their allies in the Safehaven Discord server. IsocelesAssassin, GHOSTBABEL, Moonman, and the players all grouped together to finally initiate their plan to break into the Subspace. This plan involved IsocelesAssassin's mysterious unnamed allies sending him a special "Data Bomb", which would then need to be posted in the Astral Observatory Forum's "The Truth" board. This would disrupt Nocta's security and allow the players to log into the Subspace. Unfortunately, when the file arrived, the Data Bomb was missing - stolen by Pumpkinhead himself. This coincided with the release of a message log between Pumpkinhead and "AW", or "Astral Wolf" - the spirit of the Astral Timeline's version of Wolfcat.

Pumpkinhead entered into our realm when the players reverted Astralobservatory.net back to normal in 2019. He was the "orange" entity mentioned by Moonman and the "lurking" entity mentioned by Yuukichan. Shortly after this, he hunted down Astral Wolf's spirit and contained him somewhere. This is when Astral Wolf first met Yuukichan - or her spirit, at least. From this point onwards, Pumpkinhead was using Wolfcat's accounts and impersonating him. Eventually, the players became suspicious, resulting in Pumpkinhead working alongside Tenebris to conduct the "Pumpkinhead Gamejack".

The sole main purpose of the "Pumpkinhead Gamejack" was to avert suspicion away from Pumpkinhead by having Tenebris, pretending to be an out-of-character Tyler, denounce his canonicity. Ultimately, it was a success, as the players no longer considered Pumpkinhead to be an active threat afterwards. However, around this same time, Pumpkinhead trapped Astral Wolf inside a bottle via the "Poe in a Bottle" item. This explains the recent appearance of the "Poe in a Bottle" in the Dungeons & Dragons game and the "Ascended E-Girl" album - it presumably represents Astral Wolf's trapped state.

With the release of the "Ascended E-Girl" album, Yuukichan became trapped in its Amiibo Dungeon. However, she also took Astral Wolf's spirit into it with her - explaining her posting of the "Poe in a Bottle" during this time. Pumpkinhead was not planning for his and was enraged. Now, he's currently in possession of the "Data Bomb" and is actively crippling the players' contact with their allies. If the players are unable to somehow break into the Subspace, it's possible that they may stay isolated forever - and Tyler will remain lost within the Parallelos...</poem></div>

|desc=<b>Aliases:</b> Harbinger's Link, The Lone Wolf
<b>Status:</b> Alive

The players' current link. He was formerly a player during the YSHDT Arc in 2009, though he's lost his memory of this due to Patrem's meddling. He was friends with Alex back around 2010, though his past around this time is still a mystery. He fell into a coma in mid-2016 and woke up at the beginning of 2017 with an odd Bullet Necklace. In 2018, he began studying Elder Futhark runes. He has been within the Parallelos since 2019 after touching the Detour Sign.

After encountering the Mannequin Entity at the bridge, Tyler is seemingly in two places at once - a strange hospital and Alex's "Hall of Fame". He will supposedly eventually meet "The GIRL" and Synchron.

A Layered Being who is an alternate, malicious version of Greth. He is somehow connected to every alternate version of Greth in existence. He's the leader of a group of other Layered Beings who are supposedly attempting to "hack reality". It's implied that his existence relies on him antagonizing the players. He often takes control of Greth, using him like a puppet.

BUP recently coordinated the release of "Ascended E-Girl" as some sort of "game".

A malicious entity that originated from a separate Minecraft-based ARG created by Wolfcat. He slipped into our world when Astralobservatory.net was restored in 2019. He then retrieved Astral Wolf's spirit and began impersonating Wolfcat. He conducted the "Pumpkinhead Gamejack" with Tenebris to avoid suspicion and make it seem as though he were not canon. He lost possession of Astral Wolf in 2020 when Yuukichan brought his soul into the "Ascended E-Girl" Amiibo Dungeon with her.

Pumpkinhead has finally fully unveiled himself and foiled the players' attempt to break into the Subspace by taking their "Data Bomb".

|desc=<b>Aliases:</b> Hank Hubbard, Father of Lies, Kafei, The Exile, Kelbris <i>(Former)</i>
<b>Status:</b> Ascended (2002)

A powerful ascended spirit. He was once a man named Hank Hubbard - a Moon Child who went by "Kelbris". His wife, Diana, passed away while giving birth to Ben in 1990. In 1998, he was cast out from the cult and later formed the Lunar Children. However, most of his teachings were grief-stricken delusions.

On April 23rd, 2002, he was tricked by Tenebris into ascending Ben in the hopes of reuniting with Diana. On that same day, he was killed by his adopted son, Mat, and ascended into two separate entities - Patrem and The Fourth Giant, Kelbris. On Undecim Nocte 2011, he became trapped within the body of Vincent Adams. However, during the Cataclysm in 2016, he was pulled into the Parallelos. At some point after this, he began using Greth as a vessel.

A humbled Patrem who has been taught by Synchron in the Parallelos has recently contacted the players. This circumstances surrounding this are unclear as an instance of Patrem still seems to be within Greth.

He is currently being used as Patrem's new vessel and falls under his control whenever he sleeps. In 2016, he visited the pond near the Fishery. What transpired there is unknown. Under Patrem's influence, Greth chased Tyler into the Parallelos on April 23rd, 2019.

Greth has returned and is casually working on a record label called "Astral Observatory", completely oblivious to the paranormal events in his past - likely due to BUP's influence.

She's been taught about synchronistic magic from someone whose name sounds like "Sink". It's possible that she chatted with SKM in the Parallelos at some point.

She's recently asserted that she's a fellow player - not a character. This has left her canonical status dubious at best... She claims that she's close to becoming "complete".

<h2 style="border: none; margin-bottom: 0px;">Story</h2>
<div class="fadediv"></div>
<p>After Pumpkinhead deleted the Safehaven Discord server, the players were largely cut off from their allies. However, GHOSTBABEL was still in the Internet Detectives Discord server, allowing them to send the following message:</p>

<div class="quoteblock">
<div class="quotefullimg ">
<img src="https://johnisdead.withinhubris.com/images/1/1c/Gbsmall.png" alt="" />
</div>
<div class="quotetextholder">
<div class="quotename">
𝕘𝕙𝕠𝕤𝕥𝕓𝕒𝕓𝕖𝕝
</div>
<div class="fadediv" style="margin-left: -10px; height: 3px;"></div>
<div class="quote">
<p>"DO NOT TRUST WOLFCAT. YOU DID NOTHING WRONG. IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN THIS WAY. DON'T BE FOOLED, HE IS HERE WATCHING."</p>
</div>
</div>
</div><br />

<p>Unfortunately, GHOSTBABEL was banned shortly after this...</p>

<p>On <span class="storydate">April 21st, 2020</span>, Pumpkinhead continued chatting with the players - now using "PH.gif" as their avatar - a distorted image of Wolfcat.</p>

<div class="storyconvo">
{{ConvoLeft|name=Pumpkinhead|image=Phsmaller.gif
|0=These events were destined to transpire with or without your involvement.
|1=My erstwhile mask's properties and powers ensured as much.
|2=His essence lingers even now.
}}

{{ConvoRight|name=Xenquility|image=Avatar_xen.png
|0=What was your former mask?
|1=Or does that just refer to wolfcat?

{{ConvoLeft|name=Pumpkinhead|image=Phsmaller.gif

{{ConvoRight|name=otherLiam|image=Avatar_theotherliam.jpg
|0=Could you speak like a normal person?

{{ConvoLeft|name=Pumpkinhead|image=Phsmaller.gif
|0=I am no person.
|1=I am no Eulogy, Finitor, Devium, or any other insignificant identifiers labelled by speakers of false truths.
}}

{{ConvoRight|name=Xenquility|image=Avatar_xen.png
|0=Then what are you?
}}

{{ConvoLeft|name=Pumpkinhead|image=Phsmaller.gif
|0=I am but a Dream
|1=Soon I will reclaim my mask and ascend to the final layer.
}}
</div>
<br  style="clear:both;"/>
<br />

<p>Pumpkinhead refers to Astral Wolf as his "Mask". This implies that he was previously using Astral Wolf's spirit in a way similar to that of a conduit - not too unlike how Tenebris used John back in 2015. This is presumably what allowed him to impersonate Wolfcat so well. However, even though Astral Wolf is no longer in Pumpkinhead's possession, he claims that "His essence lingers now" - possibly explaining why Pumpkinhead's avatar still resembles Wolfcat.</p>

<p>Pumpkinhead also claims that he's not a person - nor is he an ascended spirit. Instead, he simply refers to himself as a "Dream" that was dreamt up by someone. While it's not clear what this means exactly, Pumpkinhead seems to want to become more than just a dream. He hopes to do this by reclaiming Astral Wolf's spirit and ascending to the "final layer", though he doesn't elaborate on what this means.</p>

<p>Around this same time, Patrem posted the following on Within Hubris:</p>

<div class="quoteblock">
<div class="quotefullimg ">
<img src="https://johnisdead.withinhubris.com/images/1/1f/WHpatrem.png" alt="" />
</div>
<div class="quotetextholder">
<div class="quotename">
/Patrem\
</div>
<div class="fadediv" style="margin-left: -10px; height: 3px;"></div>
<div class="quote">
<p>"Here now a portion of thine power shall be harbinged - here upon thy home. So too shall the key be granted when time come for its use."</p>
</div>
</div>
</div><br />

<p>This seems to imply that the players Ocarina powers are now tethered to Within Hubris, meaning that submissions will mainly only be accepted there instead of on Discord. However, this also seems to imply that the Ocarina is currently "locked" and that the players cannot use it - at least for the time being...</p>

<p>Meanwhile, the IIIII account became active back on Discord and began posted various images. Most of these were distorted excerpts of past conversations that the IIIII account had held in private with different players. The first of these was with the player ARGdov:</p>

<div class="storyconvo">
{{ConvoRight|name=ARGdov|image=ARG_Dov.png
|0=I bet your loving this confusion
}}

{{ConvoLeft|name=IIIII|image=4c44ea36fce2afd47d23655ba26b50df.png
|0=Oh I am.
|1=This is how I win.
}}

{{ConvoRight|name=ARGdov|image=ARG_Dov.png
|0=I can't even tell if this is in-character or canon or not
}}

{{ConvoLeft|name=IIIII|image=4c44ea36fce2afd47d23655ba26b50df.png
|0=Everything is a game now
|1=He wanted desperately to get his message out and thought I would not notice if he did it this way.
|2=This is really funny. It won't happen again.
}}
</div>
<br  style="clear:both;"/>
<br />

<p>The context of this conversation is a bit of a mystery. The individual speaking through the IIIII account here is most likely Tenebris, given their tone. They're most likely mocking Synchron's attempt to get some sort of message out, implying that this may have been in reference to when the two of them were fighting in a voice call on August 18th, 2019.</p>

<p>The exact context isn't too important - what matters is Tenebris's response to it. He claims that "this" is "how he wins" and his insistence that all of this is just a "game", possibly implying that he wants the players to remain confused and not take any of this seriously.</p>

<p>Afterwards, the IIIII account posted several excerpts from a conversation he had with Miss Jackson. As a reminder, Miss Jackson was a player who briefly joined the Internet Detectives one day before the voice call mentioned above occurred - August 17th, 2019. She had presumably been contacted by the IIIII account and was unnerved by their messages, believing that all of this - including the story of Ben Drowned - was real.</p>

<p>As a result, Miss Jackson was mocked by several Internet Detectives and eventually left the Discord server - much to Tenebris's delight. Supposedly, Miss Jackson's sincere belief was something that Synchron wished to "kindle" - and something that Tenebris hoped to extinguish. Regardless, the players were now finally being given a glimpse of the conversations that took place between Miss Jackson and the IIIII account:</p>
