Dropbox is a convenient online file sharing and storage service. Before the creation of the Johnisdead Wiki (Old), Dropbox, along with the Internet Detectives Tumblr, was the main method by which players archived Johnisdead. The Dropbox used for Johnisdead was owned by the player Oceanstuck. Near the end of 2015, players stopped using the Dropbox and instead placed their archival efforts into the Wiki and Tumblr.

So i found out the background stuff, it's the zelda 1 gameover theme reversed (possibly remixed?) for reference on original (embeds zelda 1 game over theme)

If this site ends up being used for anything, do you think it'll acknowledge the fact that the number of people trying to stop BEN/find answers has dwindled to almost zero? I mean, the page is almost screaming it imo. The page title ("It's been too long.") seems like it could be about the arg community having died, the text box asks that we "play again soon", and the use of the reversed Zelda 1 game over theme (as noted by Adult_Link) hardly feels arbitrary. It might have been meant to convey that this isn't over after all

ocean here, i have a theory. a game theory. yeah no scratch that last sentence, that was lame. if accurate. whatever

ok so i was thinking about knownlocations and pulled up the edit i made of it showing who lives where. looking at it i noticed a bit of something and theories ended up happening

what i came up with is this: the color of your state is linked to how much of a target you would likely be if anyone in the group were ever targeted. the colors from most risk to least are black > purple > yellow > green

now im gonna go into some info about the players known to live in each state in order of color

BLACK
california is the only black state, and the home state of ((Names removed for privacy)). going by info from jads arg, it is also the state where ryukaki and by extension ben used to live. this puts the three relatively near a location tied to an old enemy

PURPLE
ohio is the only purple state and the location of dawn (when hes not in fuckin space anyway). dawn has opposite intentions from the id group as a unit, and thus has been referred to as a demon by helper. this puts him at odds with us and possibly certain npcs, which may not bode well for him

YELLOW
includes arkansas, washington, and north carolina. these states are home to wolfcat, ((Names removed for privacy)) respectively. all three take action relatively frequently

AK - wolfcat is usually the one to work through audioclips when they are provided, usually by patrem. he is explicitly referenced in the "one of these will be your salvation" poem found i forgot where
WA - ((Name removed for privacy)) often comments on the blog, was present for two of helpers skype visits, and occasionally takes other, nonspecific actions. he apparently became a "half-demon" between helpers first and second visit
NC - ((Name removed for privacy)) has recorded a large number of videos and is frequently present during patrems q&a sessions (and annoyed more than a few canon characters)

GREEN
includes virginia and new jersey, home to ((Names removed for privacy)) respectively. of note: nj has a black outline and star

VA - ((Name removed for privacy)) has not taken many actions throughout the arg, despite having been present for much of it
NJ - ((Name removed for privacy)) also has done relatively little, though they appear in the original /them image, is into patrem, and formerly had a correspondence with him before breaking it (possibly explaining the black star and outline)

FLORIDA (half yellow, half green)
home state of jayckup. helper also states that mason lives there, thus it can be deduced that doug and the moon children are there as well. however, jayck has been somewhat inactive and the mc have not directly threatened us. though we regard them as an enemy, we have regularly cooperated with patrem, who is confirmed to be the father, and thus have had little conflict with them. Hence the divide in color.

OUTSIDE OF USA
the flags of the uk and venezuela are shown in the corner of the image. ((Name removed for privacy)) lives in the former, ((Name removed for privacy)) in the latter. as they are flags rather than landmasses, the two areas have no color associated with them. however target rank is linked to state color, which at the yellow and green levels is linked to activity. as stevey is regularly active (posting frequently in blog comments and the thread) whilst ((Name removed for privacy)) is less so (occasionally commenting or recording, but mostly bogged down by irl bullshit), their areas can be treated as yellow and green respectively

A quick rundown of what the other chat's done so far:
-Figured out that every capital letter in the paper spells out "LINKED" (see linked.htm)
-This leads to a new page with an SSTV signal
-SSTV signal gives us a picture of [DGTaj5F]
-If you download the SWF file separately, it gets mad at you at the end. (editor's note: I set the flash to loop on the page and I got the event described before the page redirected me. I'm guessing it's part of a script to make sure you can't avoid the redirect)
-Reading the source code gives us "Linked." on the main page, and "What does he know?" on the newspaper page.
-There are about 4 other pages we can't access. The rest are just pictures.
-The website is being updated as we speak. Currently, we found a new page at "YSHDT.Com/warning" (see warning1.htm)
-There seems to be a correlation between here and the site, because Grey posted that ode to order video, and it was played on the site. I personally think this means we're linked to the site itself.

Dawn said he noticed the Oath to Order was played earlier in the topic. Since the first song to show up was the Oath to Order, this can't be a coincidence. I feel like this should go without saying, but looking back at the Moon Children Arc, songs can be very dangerous. Rosa was killed when someone played the Song of Healing, and Alex went missing with the Oath to Order, due to its poor timing.

Songs should be a democratic decision between us. It's risky to play a song on a whim.
