The Producer is a friendly, albeit still possibly antagonistic character with close ties to BUP. Being, in some way, an alternate version of the player Wolfcat, The Producer still sees himself as an Internet Detective, and is much less critical of the players than either BUP or The Law. The Producer often uses their artistic talents to "produce" things for BUP, and seems to have a hand in the creation of the Janus rooms.

Biography

The Producer first presented himself to the players in the November of 2019, shortly after BUP's first appearances. He acted as a blithe foil to BUP's harsh rudeness, speaking to the players with the familiarity of an old friend. He described himself as a less powerful entity than BUP, without the ability to kill, who provided BUP with whatever sort of creations he needed. The Producer claimed to have been around since "the beginning", and was shown to have vast knowledge of the story (albeit less than BUP). Throughout his frequent chats with the players, The Producer provided extremely vague answers to questions, instead imploring the players to analyze the recent occurrences which contained many of the truths they sought. He also hinted towards a large project that he was working on, either alongside or part of something BUP and the rest of their group were attempting to do with time. While working on this project, he discovered that he actually did have the ability to kill.

In December, wanting to train the players and "prepare their thinking" for the upcoming events, The Producer adopted the personalities "WintertideDreams" and "HarvestMemories". These personalities were later said to be layers of The Producer's subconscious mind, with the former looking towards future projects and the latter melancholily looking back on past failures. Under these names, he would post images of his upcoming projects with ciphered names, as well as vague ciphered text. After a few bouts of this "training", The Producer returned, informing the players that they would be unable to contact them directly over discord for a long while.

The Producer once again resurfaced in February 2020, briefly taking over the D&D game hosted by BUP. For the game, The Producer drew comic panels depicting the various scenarios. These panels were drawn in a style identical to the comic "Weenie-Licked" created by the player Wolfcat. The game eventually derailed into the players "finding" The Producer in his office, where he was depicted in a drawing as looking similar to Wolfcat. After a brief conversation, The Producer disappeared for a long while, only briefly breaking his silence in March to claim things would be getting more complex as "The Spheres" are merging.

After the release of the https://johnisdead.com/spire/home Janus room, players discovered that The Producer must have worked on the Janus VR rooms - many of the images sent as WintertideDreams were images that appeared in the Spire. In May, The Producer revealed himself to be a version of Wolfcat, and was shortly after singled out by Pumpkinhead. As Pumpkinhead was an old character created by the player Wolfcat, the players feared for the safety of The Producer, and convinced him to leave the Discord servers once again.

Later in October, The Producer began speaking through Wolfcat's once OOC Discord account. He began posting images of a new production, which seemed to depict various happenings that took place on the day of the cataclysm in the Spire. He continued his hospitality towards the players, giving them hints towards previously forgotten ciphers, as well as bringing back the player otherLiam who had previously been attacked by BUP. In December, he once again retreated from the Discord server in order to focus more on his work. This was only briefly interupted on April Fool's Day, 2021, when he posted a Janus room in tribute to the history of Within Hubris - "https://withinhubris.com/library".
