The livestream begins with Greth sitting at his computer desk in his new home.
Greth: "Hello? Hello, hello, hello? Is this thing even working? Ahhhh fuck. Youtube sucks so much.
Ryouji Goda: "what happened"
Greth: "Can you hear me? Can you hear me at all? Because if you can't hear me, that's my problem."
Various players confirm that they can hear him.
Greth: "Oh, okay. Well, the indicator on youtube is telling me there's no audio, so, I don't know. Um, I'm just bored, I'm here at my desk. I'm going to be cutting these-"
Greth shows off the J-Cards for the album "from the depths in which i dwell".
Greth: "-working on my label, and I thought I would sit here and chat with you guys while we're doing that. Answer some questions, tell a few stories, watch me mindlessly try not to cut my fingers off. So, how we doing today?"
Pako: "oh hi greth"
Greth: "Oh hello Pako! How you doing?"
Aarón: "hey greth, how are you?"
Greth: "I'm good, Aaron."
Greth makes a small error while cutting.
Greth: "Ah, shit. Off to a bad start with this today."
Ryouji Goda: "i played yakuza 0 today Was fun"
Greth: "Oh, nice. I'm a big Yakuza fan. My favourite is still probably Yakuza 3 for PS3. I've actually played every single Yakuza game except for the PSP spinoff and the PS4 Japanese-only Samurai spinoff. But I have played the PS3 Japanese-only Samurai spinoff. Like I said, I don't know if you're just getting here, today I am cutting out my J-cards for my tapes. You can see once they're cut out, they look something like this-"

Greth: "Here's the one I'm actually cutting out right now-"

Greth: "-that way once my customer's get ahold of them, they look nice and neat and cool and not like I'm cutting them at a desk by myself with a pair of scissors and an exacto knife. But I wouldn't want to do it any other way because DIY is the way to go whenever you can. Do-it, yourself. Unless, of course, you're dubbing the tapes on a crappy, crappy cassette player, then maybe you should just go for professional."
Pako: "what happened in the last stream?"
Greth: "What do you mean, Pako?"
Pako: "I mean in the last seconds somebody attack you and somebody enter in your house"
Greth makes another mistake while cutting.
Greth: "Ah, son of a bitch! I just fucked up big time. We'll see."
Greth shows off the mistake, revealing he accidentally cut into the card itself.
Greth: "Uh, this is not supposed to be cut in here. That's a huge error. Fuuck. Welp, that's another waste of J-card. I'll have to print another one of those. They only cost me about 26 cents per card though, so I'm not too frazzled about it. It's the second one of these I've fucked though."
Greth shows an individual card to the screen, where he failed to lightly cut into the card
Greth: "You can see here, like, how I fucked this line here. I have to cut lines into the paper lightly so that it can fold, but I uh, totally beefed here. This one, the bottom here is sloping inwards now, and it's supposed to be straight across. As far as what you're talking about, the last livestream I did went pretty normally I thought. I remember, yeah there was some weird stuff going on, but I didn't find anything. I just went to bed."
Greth returns to cutting.
Greth: "I'll just go ahead and get rid of that since it's already fucked."
Ryouji Goda: "nice Tattoo greth"
Greth: "It's a, it's David Bowie. It looks a little weird because the angle is a little stretched on my skin, but if I get him at the right angle, it doesn't look so weird. But it's not going to show up on camera very well. Especially because he's covered in my fucking-"

Greth: "Um, I think this one is pretty good. It's got a little bit here I need to take off on this side-"

Greth: "You guys have gotten awfully quiet on me. Weirds me out."
Pako: "tell us more about where do you live"
Greth: "Sure! I live in Florida, as you know, South Florida-"

Greth: "-but um, I'm still unpacking a lot. This is pretty much my whole place. This is an efficiency, so it's like one big room. My bed's in the corner over there where you can't see. My bathroom, which is a separate room, I've got a separate bathroom, is over there. Exit door is right there, and so is the monkey cage right outside the door there, and my kitchen is over there. You really can't- well you can kind of see the door. It's got some coats hanging on it right here, but that's my kitchen, behind that door. But otherwise it's just me. Kind of cooped up in here."
Martin Viale: "what happened in your last stream? You scare me bro"
Greth: "That's what everybody keeps saying. I don't know. I think I was just drunk. I got drunk and I went to sleep. I'm thinking about doing some drinking now, actually. Cause I am out-of-weed. You're talking about the one I said that was uh, Greth Vlogs 13, right? Yeah, I mean I know there was a point where it cut off a little weird, but as I recall the stream kept going for a little-"

Greth: "-What's that about?"

Greth: "No, I don't think so. I think I was just being a little paranoid."

Greth: "-so that it becomes foldable like that. By the way, this is why they call it a J-card. Ahaha, haha. Can you see now? It's a J-card!"
Greth shows off the folded J-card, which is folded into the shape of a J. He then takes out a brand new cassette case.
Greth: "Pop open one of these cassette holders. These cassette tape shells, cases, what do you want to call them. These are all brand new, of course. I've just got to unpack each one."

Greth: "-now when the cassette tapes arrive in the mail, they will have a nice little home with my little Astral Observatory marker on there. I don't think it'll come up very well on camera, but, you know. I've also got my Astral Observatory logo on the back here of each card, and more than that, if you open up the J-card, there's a QR code right there, that'll take you right to the bandcamp page. I mean, you gotta like the moon on there, right? On the QR. That's a moon in the middle."
TheOtherLiam: "How've you been feeling, man?"
Greth: "Mostly okay, Liam. Just, you know, hanging out. We're all going a little stir-crazy thanks to everything that's going on, I think. I was being a little seclusive there for a minute. Ironically now that everybody's secluding themselves, I'm feeling like being a little more social. So, I've decided to bring myself back into the fold, I guess. Let's do a Poppet one, just for some variation. Something different to look at for a minute."

Greth: "-but, this is just a record label. I haven't put any of my own music on it yet. Famously though, I did release some vaporwave two- well, a couple years ago, and a couple of people in the community actually really liked it and bought some tapes from that. But most of the stuff I'm focussing on right now is just releasing other people's music that I like. Actually, here..."

Greth: "Uh, one of the Internet Detectives actually made one of my album covers. It's vaporwave, I don't, I like my vaporwave just a little bit shitpost-y. I don't think I'm really comfortable with showing off any of my other stuff on here, cause people seem to like my vaporwave, I don't think anyone would really be into my like, metal music or anything."
Ivan GN: "oh do you make music? its like vaporwave?"
Greth: "Well not all the music I make is vaporwave, but what I linked was. So a lot of you guys are up late, huh? This is only the afternoon for me. Well, it's not even afternoon yet. It's 11:30 AM."
Martin Viale: "was the astral observatory from majoras mask?"
Greth: "Yes, yes the Astral Observatory was from Majora's Mask. That was where I got it from. Obviously I didn't want to like, use direct Zelda imagery when designing the Bandcamp page because I don't own anything from Nintendo, but, I don't think anyone actually calls an observatory in real life an Astral Observatory. I think that's pretty much specifically a Majora's Mask thing."

Greth: "Okay, so it's not too late for some of you guys. I just know some of you are in different parts of the world. I guess if it was really late it'd be like Japan or something though. So I can't imagine there's anybody Japanese in here."

Greth: "Alright, so, that's another finished J-card. I think that one turned out pretty good too. Now, because these are all hand-cut obviously there are going to be variations, small imperfections. But as long they look somewhat uniform, I'm not going to be too mad. But if you look closely, you can see the one on the left side here has more actual card than the one on the right side. This one's a bit shorter and stouter. The side here has less material, that's cause of beefs and errors that I made. Yeah. Do you guys want to see some cassettes, actually? Not mine, just like-"

Greth: "-all cassette tapes. The whole thing. And this is a small box. I've got way too many cassette tapes. That was something me and tyler always got along on. We always liked to share our love of cassettes and vaporwave. And the stuff you could put on cassettes, like vaporwave."
Martin Viale: "your room is kind of a mess jajaj"
Greth: "Well yeah, my room is kind of a mess because I'm still unpacking, my friend, I explained that already. See, look at that. Just full of-"

Greth: "-to me actually. It's called 'The World's First Uploaded Human'. It's a nice tape. There's something about the actual album that speaks to me though. What's the first uploaded human, who do you think that would be when the time comes? If it hasn't already. Here's a cool one, it's ((inaudible)). This is 'Dopesmoker' by Sleep, this is a classic. It's a reprint, but, here, listen to this album, it's literally one song, and it's like an hour and a half. So you better like weird music. This is 'ARCHGOAT', I haven't even opened it yet, it's still in the seal. This is uh, 'Mo'ynoq', I think they're a black metal band. Oh, uh hey! Check it out actually. There we go, that's my album. This is my album on cassette. I did not make this cassette, another label put this out. I have several copies actually. I think you guys know Wolfcat, Wolfcat designed the cover of this with me. Summer Dreamsphere... mfgreth/succmarijuano... Let me see if there's anything cool in here that I can actually show ya... Oh, maybe just because you guys are dorks you'll like this one. By Neon95, 'Pokewave', it's fun. And I don't know, I think this one's 'Azure Sands'. There's like, seven or eight more cassettes in here and I don't feel like pulling them out."

Greth: "Yeah, yeah so I was saying-"

Greth: "-Roblox, actually, to design it. Made an entire level in Roblox, and then he took the most ideal screenshot we could, and then we went to town on photoshop from there. Uh, I think his Roblox was banned though, after that. I don't know why. I think the mod's name who banned him was "Kevin"? Let's take a look in this box. It's a tough box to open. I packaged it too well. But I guess that's a good thing."
Greth drops his exacto knife.
Greth: "There goes my exacto knife. Let's see what we got in here. OOoo, this is a good one. I bought this one second hand. 'Cybereality'. This is a pretty sought after album actually, nowadays. So, I could probably sell it, but I'm not going to let it go because that's how I roll. Got some ((inaudible)). Looks like a broken tape there. Oof. The album so good I had to buy it twice in two different colours. 'Donkey Kong Wave'. Hell yeah. You think I'm joking? Oh hell no. Donkey Kong Wave is so good. So fucking good. I'm not even fucking with you. Oh, I've got to spell out DK for you here. You know I gotta to it to you. I don't think you'll be able to see it unless I- nope, oh well."

Greth: "-kong wave. There's at least two tracks you need to listen to. First one is called 'Pie' by Nothing, and the next one is the very next track called 'So Confused' by Pizza. I know this all seems very memey, that's cause it is kind of a memey album. This is like, actually a fantastic-"

Greth: "Cause I've got 'For Sara' from that. And it's exactly what you'd think it would be. It's like Elijah but plain work doing a bunch of weird poetry and recorder stuff. Or is it flute? I don't know."

Greth: "The next one I'm going to focus on is just because this is a double, you can see how big it is. There's two tapes in here. I think you'll get a kick out of what it's called though."

Greth: "'Anime Booty Jamz', part one and part two. When you need to fuck but also watch anime. And then of course the infamous 'Sponge Person's Eggo Jams Volume 1'. I went for a light blue cassette because that's how I roll. There were many good options there, but this was the one I wanted."
Xenquility: "where do you find this"
Greth: "Where do I find anything, Xenquility? My power level is too high. I have all kinds of dumb shit. For example, how about a recreation of the cassette tape from 'K-On!'? Yeah, you know, the band that uh, was in the anime that the girls put together and they put out their album on cassette if you recall. This is like, a fan-made recreation of that cassette from the anime, down to the last detail. I'm dead serious. It's perfect. They put the whole thing-"

Greth: "-this does not officially exist in any capacity. Some dude from Deutschland I believe made this. I spent like 15 bucks on it. Fifteen dollars is actually expensive for a cassette. That's why people like them. Cassettes usually only cost you between five and eight dollars. As opposed to spending like fucking forty to fifty bucks, well, I'll be a little more generous, twenty five to fifty dollars on a vinyl. I love vinyls too, but, again, it's not plural, I like vinyl too, but they're expensive. Yeah, I don't think there's anything else too interesting in here. I mean, I've got 'Furwave'. This is actually a good album, I'm like, not fronting. I know it's really weird. Furwave. But you should look it up. Furwave by Yiffo. If you like the Nintendo wii, and like, nostalgia, it's like the perfect album, actually. I'll put all of this back for now. I should probably be working on my own J-cards, but now I'm having too much fun talking to you guys. We don't have to just talk about cassettes, I'm going to keep going through them, but if you want to ask me any other questions feel free. Greth: "Ooooh, there's some good ones in here. This is actually probably my favourite vaporwave album period. Like, not even a joke. This is uh, 'Temple of Sadness' by Electric Dreams. If you've never listened to Temple of Sadness by Electric Dreams, you need to do that. Like, as soon as we're done here, or just put it on in the background, listen to Temple of Sadness by Electric Dreams."

I feel like Future Funk as a genre is pretty overrated because it's just house music with anime asthetics. It kind of goes against what I feel vaporwave is about, but I still bought the album. It's a good album, so. If you especially like Sailor Moon he fucking samples that twinkly sound effect-"

Greth: "-yeah, like I said, my favourite vaporwave album, I'm going to go back to it for a second, is the Temple of Sadness. This was probably the definitive vaporwave album for me. It was also the one that made me realize that like, naturewave is really where it's at. I had a few before, there was 'Organics', I'm trying to remember who releases that.... 'åmßêrVVåvê§'! åmßêrVVåvê§, Organics by åmßêrVVåvê§ is also a great naturewave album. I have another vape- naturewave by the same artist as this one, Electric Dreams. I have a few, in fact I just saw one two seconds ago. It was a STΛQQ ƟVERFLƟ 'SΛCRED GRƟVE ƟNLINE'. It's kind of like a fake MMORPG wrapped up in a naturewave album conceptually. It's really cool, but nothing beats the actual, classic naturewaves. Which is ridiculous to talk about because vaporwave as a genre is less than a decade old at this point probably. Uh, this is a good future funk album. I'm not going to talk much about it, but if you're interested the artist is uh, I think it's Tanuki, right? Yeah."

Greth: "-I actually liked it quite a bit. It's an ambient album called 'The Forest Is Sleeping Within The Trees'. It's not actually naturewave, it's ambient, but I feel like it's sort of in the spirit of naturewave. Because again, the album is called The Forest Is Sleeping In The Trees. It's by an artist called uh, I can't pronounce it, it's to difficult, 'øjeRum'."
Xenquility: "Sorry, did you just say 'practice magic'?"
Greth: "Yes, I did say practice magic. Anyways, um, the actual cassette is black. It has music on it, don't get me wrong. There's no label, there's a nice little, he wrote a number on it to let me know that I have copy 24 out of 42. But what's great about this one, is look at the J-card. This is the best. I'm not joking, this is the best J-card I've ever seen as every single one is individual. The motherfucker pressed an actual leaf into the J-card. That's the album cover. Just every single one is different. He took a real leaf and pressed it in there. That's honestly fantastic. I could never beat that. I can't do that. It's like hard plastic, too! It's high quality, it's not some flimsy paper. I mean, I'm using high quality paper for my stuff, it's card stock, but this is... Wow."
Martin Viale: "thats cool man could you show us a trick?"
Greth: "Um, magic doesn't really work that way, actually. I can't just like, show you. It's more about belief and practise and spiritualism and spells. Spell circles. This is a good album, this is 'Otaku Quest'. The artist is Dooby Douglas. I really just kind of like the art for this one. It's actually a funky ass album. It's a good album to get down to. It's fun. It's great, and it's a good album to work out to. But I mean, what really sold me is just like, look at this art? It's fucking great man. It's good stuff. You can tell these are supposed to be some famous Anime women, but also clearly covered up. I'm pretty sure that's... well, maybe not, but I've always assumed so. Because I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be Sailor Moon, and then this is supposed to be Sakura from Naruto."

Greth: "-other stuff. It's a nice- it's a pretty glitter cassette, but those are super common. I think I've gone through most of the small boxes of cassettes. But like I said, I have a shit ton of cassettes. So if we're having fun, actually-"

Xenquility: "What do you practice?"
Greth: "I'm ready to keep going. Magic is, as I perform it, is about invoking, not about casting. Casting would require that you control natural energies to make what you want happen, which feels sort of reductive to me. It feels like you're trying to harness things which are not yours to harness, so I've never really believed in sort of thing. Um, invoking is more about asking permission. It's not that I'm drawing power to do what I want- This is a good album by the way. I you ever want to look up on Bandcamp 'Peikono Hills', if you like nostalgic video-gamey kind of stuff, it's a good one. So it'd probably remind you of like, pokemon and stuff. Two more naturewave albums, I've got a lot of them they're just kind of hanging around. I haven't shown you all the cassettes, I'm kind of skipping around, but I'm just making a point-"
Martin Viale: "Who do you ask that permission to?"
Greth: "But I've always felt a deep connection to nature, and I don't want to control nature, so instead I ask those who do control nature to work in my favour as a favour. So anytime you invoke a spirit, usually a god, you have to make that request very nicely and give something in return. Obviously the bigger the asking, or the need, the bigger the cost. Well, here's an example. I made a spell circle in ID not that long ago when the hurricane came around, if you remember that little episode with the hurricane. Quite a few of us who lived in Florida were pretty directly threatened by it. And I put out a spell circle, and you guys helped out, and it seemed to have fucking worked! I don't know. I don't know if you remember how crazy that was, but you know, the hurricane was like, out here in the ocean just bee lining right towards me. If you wanna say I was about here, it was bee lining right towards me. And then after it cut through me and Scout, actually, if you know Scout, it was gonna slice right up through us and hit Tyler. And that would have been really bad for all of us. So I drew up a spell circle, I had as many of you invoke that spell circle as I could, and it fucking worked! The hurricane never hit shore in Florida. It just kind of stalled- sadly it stalled over Puerto Rico. You know, the islands. They had some devastating losses. But at the very least I feel like I did my part to protect us. But, again, the cost of those things is pretty high, so one wonders if what I did did not affect those less fortunate than me."
Martin Viale: "So thats the last time you knew about tyler"
Greth: "Yeah, I guess. You know, before I feel like I hadn't seen Tyler around. Sometimes when I talk about him I'll remember that we did have interactions past that point, but not like, too much."

Greth: "Cartoon? What do you mean? I'm confused."

Greth: "The controllers of nature... Well, that's the great question, isn't it? People have been wondering about that for a long time. I have my own views. I'm not sure how willing I am to share that right now, because it seems a little crazy."

Greth: "Are you talking about my air kicking on? The vent? The AC, the air conditioner? Yeah, that kicked on a little bit ago. I have a big one in here. Since I don't have central AC cause this is an efficiency, they did install a really big, powerful AC, and it fucking makes this room frostier than the Polar Express if I wanted to. It's kind of an essential in Florida."

Greth: "And that's another Poppet J-card done. Bam. I actually have J-cards from a long time ago right here. This was my first album for vaporwave. I did not sell that many copies, so still plenty of leftovers that I will do absolutely nothing with. It's kind of a fun reminder they exist though. Just got a bunch of them."
Martin Viale: "What do they usually ask for* just realized i misspelt"
Greth: "Well, in a communion of Gods, you don't really know what they're gonna ask for necessarily. You have to make an assumption sometimes. It's really a game of cat and mouse. Okay, here's a cool one. You want to talk about magic and cassettes at the same time? I'm being serious. This cassette is a spell, actually. That's not a joke. When you play this cassette, you're automatically bringing forth a spell. Not an invocation, a spell. It's dangerous stuff. Once you get into the esoteric knowledge, you know how certain things can be done and should be done. And how they shouldn't be done. This has to be used very cautiously. I don't want to talk about it too much because if you believe in this sort of thing, the more you talk about it the more you start to invoke it. As this is not linked to any specific diety, it's linked to a specific set of actions that I would not want to incur here. But it's dangerous stuff. Let's open it up! These talismans were handmade by the practitioner, which means they might look like junk to you, but they do have specific meanings. Because this is a somewhat dark spell, some of these talismans include actual ritual coins and gems and some of them are just rusty fucking nails, so you've got to be careful."

Greth: "-since a bunch of weird, esoteric, creepy music would play. But if you were to try and invoke power from it and achieve the affect you desire, one would potentially speak to the dead. I can't even shove this stuff back in here. It's always so hard to put back together. This fucking talisman. So loosey-goosey. I always hate taking this thing apart. I'm planning on putting in an invocations cassette and selling it through Astral Observatory, so if you're interested in that sort of thing, look out for it. There won't be very many copies, though, because it's such a dangerous practise I would probably only put out like two or three, maybe even only one depending on how much time and effort I want to put into this. But it would serve a specific purpose that I don't really want to talk about yet anyways."
