This video contains footage of the "Spire" Janus room. The camera spins around the cafeteria as the Spire seemingly morphs around it, sometimes taking on a Legend of Zelda aesthetic. As distorted music plays in the background, various excerpts from a journal appear - presumably written by Hope:
"Today is day 56. This is the first time we've had power in weeks. Well, I say "weeks" in the way we used to understand them."
"Time has become an incredibly loose concept since it went dork. The only way we've been able to keep any semblance of it is through our phones, which never seem to lose their charge. Odd, considering all of the clocks here seem to have become frozen."
"Nothing makes sense anymore, and I'm driving myself crazy trying to understand it all. While my friends are probably off enjoying their first hot shower in months, here I am sending more journals out into the void. I wonder, does anyone read these anymore? Was anyone even reading them in the first place?"
"I guess it doesn't matter. It's not like anyone would be able to help us anyway."
"Everything that happened before is a bit fuzzy to me now. I don't know if it's because of all the crazy stuff that's been happening since then or what, but the details are just muddled. It's frustrating."
"I remember one day when we were rummaging through more rooms trying to find some money, when he suddenly just came back all on his own. It was a shock, to say the least. My friend basically tackled him to the ground with tears in her eyes. I had to pry her off of him, fruitlessly reminding her of his condition. He didn't seem to mind, though. Actually, for the first time in what seemed like forever, he smiled."
"Things were nice back then. Our spirits were all lifted and it was as if we were finally able to experience some normalcy - something that had been absent since April. Well, maybe "normal" isn't really the right word. We were still living here, squatting in this massive building that seemed all but non-existent for those outside its walls."
"We were fooling ourselves. We knew this wasn't normal. Every day I would just try to ignore all the little oddities around us. Displaced furniture, disembodied voices, rooms changing ever so slightly between visits... However, beyond all else, what we all tried to ignore the most was the past. None of our hands were clean, and nothing could change that. All we can do is stew in it."
"I tried to remain blissfully ignorant of these thoughts, however, treating the whole thing as a... vacation, of sorts. I mean, why not? Our situation was finally turning around. We had money, our friend was back and more chipper than ever, and the prospect of anyone finding us was seemingly less likely every day."
"Such blessings never seem to last."
"One day, we all awoke to darkness. Our sanctuary had changed, no longer a pristine recollection of what it had once been, but now a cold reflection of reality. Ruins scattered around the halls. Torn banners draped from the ceiling. Water bubbling from shattered floors. What was most concerning, however, was that whenever we looked outside these windows, all we could see was an endless void."
"We've survived 56 days in this hellhole. Thankfully, our dorms seem to be fairly secure. Once you step out into the halls, though... Well, I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but there are *things* out there. Restless entities that seem to glitch in and out of sight."
"It changes sometimes. Occasionally we'll wake up and the building will once again be in perfect condition, though the darkness remains. We usually spend these days scouting for supplies, though, oddly enough, hunger does not really seem to affect us here. Other days the building will seem oddly "simplistic", for lack of a better term."
"I worry about my friends. I can tell that this is getting to them. Heck, it's getting to ME! Who wouldn't be driven insane by all this??? My friend - and I continue saying "my friend" as if our anonymity is even a concern anymore, but nevertheless - my friend just remains fixated on that phone. Is she really able to still speak to Luke or is this place just SCREWING with us some more?"
"And my other friend... He's starting to decline, almost to how he was before his treatment. I fear that if he continues wandering off, we may lose him."
"It's tough. I have to remain strong, though. For them. Maybe today will bring them some much needed respite. Who knows, maybe us regaining power is a sign that things are only just beginning to improve?"
