The Truth Arc is the fourth arc of Johnisdead. This arc began on July 3rd, 2016 and ended on January 1st, 2017. This arc saw the return of the Moon Children website Youshouldnthavedonethat.net as players witnessed events from the year 2010, exploring more of the cult's dark history. The return of Youshouldnthavedonethat.net resulted in many veteran players returning to the community. Originally, the fact that this arc was a part of Johnisdead was kept secret, resulting in many players believing this was the return of Jadusable's original ARG.

Notice:

It's important to remember that the Moon Children and the Lunar Children are two separate groups.
The Moon Children were housed in the Orchard, owned the site Youshouldnthavedonethat.net, and were led by Mr. D - an entity heavily implied to be Tenebris.
The Lunar Children were housed in the fishery, owned the site Lunarchildren.com, and were led by Patrem.
This arc mainly focuses around the Moon Children.
For convenience sake, we will often be referring to "Youshouldnthavedonethat.net" as "YSHDT.net" throughout this timeline.

July 3rd, 2016

  • At 12:00 PM, players discovered that "http://www.youshouldnthavedonethat.net", the website owned by the Moon Children that was used during Jadusable's ARG, was once again active. This site had previously been owned by the "GoChina" after not being renewed by Jadusable. The site now featured a generic login page that read "Sign in to GoChina". target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the login page for YSHDT.net had updated. The page now read "Sign in to The Moon Children". target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that YSHDT.net had reverted to how it appeared during Jadusable's ARG. A brief summary of the content discovered on YSHDT.net during Jadusable's ARG is as follows:
  • Front Page - Contained a brief introduction to the Moon Children along with a Guestbook where users could leave comments. (Link) This page also contained announcements written by high ranking Moon Children and mysterious entities:
  • Matt, also known as Ifrit.
  • Chris, also known as Nekko.
  • Spencer, also known as Duskworld23.
  • Kevin, also known as Insidiae.
  • DROWNED, who is implied to be BEN.
  • Kelbris, who made a single, threatening post.
  • Contact Us - A page where players could submit their personal contact information. (Link) Several "Contact Pages" were hidden for various Moon Children that hid further information:
  • Ben - Ben's contact page. This page contained a countdown to the fourth day. (Link)
  • Drowned - Drowned's contact page. This page contained a large image of Kelbris. (Link)
  • Ifrit - Matt's contact page. This page led players to Matt's email address and the YouTube channel "TheLinkMissing". After Matt disappeared as the second cycle began, this page was filled with images of BEN. (Link)
  • Alex - Alex's contact page. This page contained text further linking Alex to the "TheLinkMissing" YouTube channel. (Link)
  • Search - Links to a search page that allowed players to quickly scour the site. (Link)
  • The Truth - Links to a locked page. Finding a way to enter this page was one of the main goals from Jadusable's ARG. (Link)
  • Creed - Links to a page containing various Moon Child chants. (Link)
  • About - Links to a page containing small bios on high ranking Moon Children. (Link)
  • Theories - Links to a page containing several theories relating to the apocalypse. (Link)
  • Other - Miscellaneous things found on YSHDT.net:
  • Press Room - A seemingly unfinished page that contained cryptic text and a link to the "Blastoff!" page. (Link)
  • Blastoff! - A page containing generic placeholder text along with text relating to the number "423". (Link)
  • Downloadable Files - Various files hosted on YSHDT.net that players discovered by entering the correct URL.

Notice:

To avoid any confusion, it's important to note that YSHDT.net operated on a three day cycle. This means that on the night of the third day, the players were required to "reset" the site by submitting the Song of Time. This would revert the site to how it was three days prior, often with small changes.
The players were essentially experiencing alternate timeline versions of the same website whenever a new cycle began.

For convenience sake, we will be referring to most YSHDT.net pages as their casual name rather than their entire URL.
For example, the page "http://www.youshouldnthavedonethat.net/index.php/contact/ifrit will simply be referred to as "Matt's Contact Page".

This concludes the summary of YSHDT.net as it appeared during Jadusable's ARG.
The following updates are purely from The Truth Arc of Johnisdead.

  • At an unknown time, players discovered that YSHDT.net featured a video titled "again.wmv" embedded onto the front page. target=_blank This video was uploaded to a new YouTube channel named "fj6rt missing". target=_blank Shortly after this video was discovered, it was privated on YouTube.

7/3/16 - "again.wmv" - YouTube (fj6rt missing)

The video begins with footage from Majora's Mask. Deku Link is walking around Clock Town on the night of the first day. Despite this, music is still playing. We see Deku Link entering East Clock Town. As the area loads in, we see the Elegy Statue's smile quickly flash on screen accompanied by a loud sound. Deku Link approaches the Bomber Gang Kid and is asked for the secret code. Deku Link enters '15423' and it is accepted. The video cuts to black and text appears:

"You are not done playing yet."

Distorted sounds play in the background. And empty dialogue box appears as the Skull Kid laughs. Text flashes on screen.

"United Alliance"

An image of the Player group "We Are All Link" flashes on screen, followed by a flash of the "What's Your Mask?" Player group. More text appears.

"Heroes of Time"

An image of the "Knights of Jad" player group appears, followed by a flash of "The Fourth Day" Player group.

"Team Vanguard"

"System of a Dream"

The "Bomber Gang Kids" Player group image appears as darkness slowly covers it. A backwards scream is heard as the video cuts to black. More text appears:

"Did you think I would forget?"

"One more chance."

"Dawn of a New Day"

"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"

Summary

  • Gameplay footage of Majora's Mask is shown. Link approaches the Bomber Gang Kids and enters their hideout by entering the code "15423".
  • Tenebris informs the players that they are not done playing his game yet.

Hey guys Chris again, it has been a really really REALLY long day. It just feels like today is never going to end. But my complaning aside I have a few things that need to be addressed. I lost our testimonials (I am so sososososo sorry about that) I just don't know how it happened, but we won't be getting that testimonials page up after all. Its ok though, Luna is something that is best ecperianced personally in my opinion (not trying to make excuses or anything though, still really sorry). Also, I see we are already getting more traffic (yaaaaayyy new friends) And I am aware of the problem with the guestbook, but no I still don't know why it is displaying things 6 years in the future (I know I made that future joke before but wow guys did someone get lost in a time machine here, heh). That being said we are trying to work on it. Oh and be sure if you are in the area to stop by Ifrits place on sunday for the big party

Summary

  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the guestbook contained a comment from "Spencer" that read "Matt I thought you were our friend".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that Drowned's contact page was now titled "g4" and contained the following text: "This sheep is blind, its eyes to the one below the blue who's consumed beneath the one through ages. It is flesh sans soul, a once living traitor, a servant and nothing more. The man is smiling.".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that Alex's contact page was now titled "g2".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that Matt's contact page contained the text "What did he do on sunday?".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the text found previously on the "Pressroom" page that read "sheep to the slaughter" now linked to the audio file "jintod.ogg". Unfortunately, this file was corrupted and would not play.
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that "jintod.ogg" would not play because text had been inserted into its code that read "Radio them and tell them what is happening to ifrit". Once this text was removed, the audio file played correctly. target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that Ben's contact page once again contained a countdown to "The Fourth Day". This page also contained the text "JNNDE LIES SOKF SOON TO COMPLETE MY TRIVOAB BMIND TBODY FSOUL!JVQD ENBUHOTH THIS GAME WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL ALL IS CONSUMED!".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered a new page on YSHDT.net - "http://www.youshouldnthavedonethat.net/index.php/giant". This page was titled "1" and contained an image of Kelbris. This page also contained the text "YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE" written in bright red and played a reversed version of the "Southern Swamp" theme from Majora's Mask titled "D.ogg".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the title of the "Giant Page" had changed to "g1".
  • At an unknown time, players discovered a new page on YSHDT.net - "http://www.youshouldnthavedonethat.net/index.php/r". This page was titled "R" and was completely blank.
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the audio "Song_of_Healing_Reversed.ogg" previously found within YSHDT.net's downloadable files now hid a conversation between the Moon Children Rem and David in its coding:

Summary

Matt ((To Moondancer)) 8:31 PM: "It is approximately September 16th 2010 1:29am EST. Also I have not heard from Alex since the black out, which is a shame, since a certain incident resulting his friend introducing him to our group, he has been one of our gretest warriors. I hope we can find him again soon as he is a valuable asset."
Aaver 8:33 PM: "Hey! I'm Morgan. Is this Ifrit? I found the email in the source code of the site, but I'm not sure if this is actually correct"
Matt ((To Aaver)) 8:40 PM: "I was not expecting emails, or so many, so soon. But anyone truly interested in our cause is welcome. This is Ifrit, while I am awake I can let you know anything you need within reason."
Aaver 8:53 PM: "I'm so sorry if I was disturbing you, then. I hope my email wasn't adding to the pile. Regardless, I wanted to know if joining was still an option for me. From what I've read about on the site, it seems like most of meetings are in-person (unless I'm mistaken)? I live in Canada, and I'm still quite dependent on my parents. Trips out of the country aren't an option for me, due to my financial situation. I'm not sure if any members live nearby. How might initiation work for me, if I join? Thank you so much for answering these, if you can. I'm really grateful."
Matt ((To Aaver)) 9:04 PM: "If you wanted to come to us in the physical world that may be a bit challenging for you, in your current condition, I am afraid. We are much bigger than we were a long time ago but we are still smaller than many "Real" as some might say, religions. We are mostly on the American east coast (Florida, New york ect.) however After we finally get everything situated I will being to seriously get through applications to join for those who are serious. I am expecting to have this all done after Sunday if we stick to schedule with no hang ups. In the mean time, check up on our theories and creed page for a little glimpse at what we are all about."
Moondancer 9:04 PM: "Oh, thank you. I'm curious, what exactly's going down at the party on Sunday? And, if I may ask, how late do you think it'll go? If I can go, it'll only be around 10 or 11 PM."
Matt ((To Moondancer)) 9:20 PM: "It is a revival and prayers to our Goddess. But my apologies as it is members only. Just as well do expect slow replies from me as oddly enough I am getting swamped with email at the moment."
Moondancer 9:24 PM: "Alright. One more question, for now. Have you heard from Rosa lately? A friend recommended that I talk to her, but I couldn't find any contact information."
Aaver 9:25 PM: "That's kind of disappointing. Still, I understand. I really hope that you guys grow big enough in the future so that international meetups are possible. I'll definitely be waiting for that day! I'll put in my contact info later today, hopefully you can get to it when you can go through applications. Thanks again for answering my questions. Since you seem to be swamped right now, do you know of anyone else I could take my questions to? I don't want to be a bother."
Moondancer 9:45 PM: "Additionally, please be careful. Some weird stuff's been happening lately, and it's only been getting worse as time goes on"
Matt ((To Aaver)) 9:57 PM: "If he is awake and set up his email properly, DW might be able to talk to you seeing as he promised to help out with the extra traffic and new members we were expecting. Don't worry, in the not so distant future we expect to be one of the biggest religious groups in all of the country. Assuming people know whats good for them By 2017, we project having at least one grotto in every state."
Matt ((To Moondancer)) 9:59 PM: "Rosa is my sister, I have been trying my best to keep in contact with her since the blackout. However I do not know who told you you needed to talk to her or why. Where did you hear that?"

Summary
