The Astral Arc is the sixth arc of Johnisdead. This arc began on October 22nd, 2018, and ended on June 5th, 2019. This arc saw the introduction of the Astral Observatory - a group of online paranormal enthusiasts with some unknown connection to the Lunar Children. Throughout this arc, players were required to navigate the Astral Observatory forums and interact with its various members while avoiding the suspicion of Nocta - the mysterious leader of the Astral Observatory.

October 22nd, 2018

At an unknown time, players discovered that the front page of Johnisdead.com had updated. This page no longer had a title and contained an image of a red-tinted Tyler grinning titled "maj.jpg". This page also featured the audio "recruit.mp3". Hidden within this page's source code was the text "howdoesitwork" repeated 55 times.
At an unknown time, players discovered that Johnisdead.com now featured a new favicon of a crudely-drawn smiley face.

October 23rd, 2018

At 1:58 PM, players discovered that the front page of Johnisdead.com had updated. This page was now titled "construction" and once again featured the green, distorted image of Tyler titled "awaken.jpg". This page still contained the audio "recruit.mp3".
At 2:19 PM, players discovered that Johnisdead.com would once again redirect players if they attempted to access a non-existent page. The pages player would be redirected to seemed to all be previously discovered canon sources such as the Silentdork YouTube channel and Doug's blog.

October 24th, 2018

At 9:53 AM, the player Jos discovered a new page on Johnsidead.com - "https://johnisdead.com/home.html". This page was simply the previous version of the front page which featured the red-tinted image of Tyler.
At 9:56 AM, the player Jos discovered that Johnisdead.com would sometimes redirect him to a new website when attempting to access a non-existent page - "https://astralobservatory.net/". This site appeared to be a blog themed around paranormal activity and conspiracies. Players noticed that some of the wording within the blog posts found on this page were distinctly cult-like.

Summary

The announcement welcoming users to the site was posted on July 28th, implying that the Astral Observatory has existed for several months.
The members of the Astral Observatory believe that society has obscured various truths regarding the nature of the paranormal and reality itself. The author of these posts claims that the Astral Observatory has been exposed to information that has "shattered that illusion", and that now they want more.
On October 22nd, an announcement was posted on Astral Observatory claiming that Johnisdead.com had stolen their bandwidth on October 21st. This explains why Johnisdead.com now redirects to Astralobservatory.net.
It is revealed that the Astral Observatory has some forums that are temporarily offline.

At an unknown time, players discovered that the front page of Astralobservatory.net contained a link to their forums - "https://astralobservatory.net/forum". Unfortunately, these forums were still offline.
At 10:01 AM, the player Jos discovered that the Javascript code on Johnisdead.com that redirected players could now be read. The redirects were as follows:

At 3:28 PM, the player Jos discovered that the generic "404" page on Johnisdead.com that users were sent to before being redirected was now titled "lost?". This page also contained a dark image of Tenebris and the elegy statue titled "ha.png" and hid the text "find your way" in its source code.

October 31st, 2018

At 4:02 PM, players discovered that the front page of Astralobservatory.net now contained a new announcement titled "Good news and bad news.".

Summary

It is revealed that any content on the previous incarnation of the Astral Observatory forums has been lost.

At 5:57 PM, players discovered that the front page of Johnisdead.com had changed. The page was now titled "The timer (won’t) reset" and contained an image of a moon with occasional flashes of a smiling face appearing titled "infinitecycle.gif". This page also contained the audio "brokencycles.ogg".
At an unknown time, players discovered that the front page of Johnisdead.com had changed. The page appeared exactly the same, but the audio file had changed from "brokencycles.ogg" to "brokencycles.mp3". Despite the different file extension, these two tracks were exactly the same.
At 10:24 PM, players discovered that Tyler had uploaded a new video the Silentdork YouTube channel - "experiments".

This video begins with Tyler recording outside his house. He approaches the "Detour Sign" and begins speaking.

Tyler: "Hey, everybody. So, it's been a little while since my last video, not counting the, uh... that- that... that thing that got uploaded. I mean... I don't really know what to say about that, 'cause I mean by now I'm just kinda numb to the concept of shit getting uploaded to my channel that was not uploaded by me. But, uh... Ow, shit, that's hot. Um... I wanted to do a video today, because if you remember this thing has just kinda popped into my life, and... I mean, it just looks like a fucking "Detour Sign" really, but... there are some strange properties this thing seems to have."

Tyler is now touching the "Detour Sign", inspecting it. While he's touching it, a strange, moaning sound is emitted from the sign and a faint corruption can be seen.

Tyler: "And, uh... You know, I was doing all the, uh, the Lunar Children research. Uh, that's mostly dead-end stuff. A combination of dead-end stuff and scary stuff, because people don't react well whenever you bluntly ask about that kinda shit around here. But, uh... yeah, the "Detour Sign". Um... last video that, uh, I recorded myself and uploaded myself, um... it kinda seemed like the- this thing... there's a bug, get off me. Kinda seemed like this thing sorta causes you to teleport... And, uh... Yeah, not really sure how or why? Um... I am assuming though, whatever this is, it has something to do with, uh, the... the "magic bullshit" regarding that website. Uhh, "Johnisdead.com", which is down right now, by the way. Um... didn't mean for this to be like, uh, update vlog kinda thing, but uh..."

Tyler: "Shit, sorry. I-I guess standing too close to this thing for too long causes, uh... some kinda, like... I guess, like, device, uh... fuckery. ((Laughs)) But, uh, what was I saying... Oh yeah. Um..."

Tyler: "Anyways, I didn't mean for this to be, like, uh... talking about, like... every other thing in my life kinda vlog video, but uh... there's a couple of guys I've been in contact with. Um... Yeah, I should mention, uh, and I'm sure probably plenty of you already know Johnisdead.com and, uh, the Lunar Children website are both down. That's because, uh, this other guy is now kinda in charge of the thing."

Tyler: "Jesus Christ, my phone. Okay, lemme just like, uh, get away from that thing. Uh... What was I saying, oh yeah. Um... this guy I've been in contact with- a couple of guys, actually. There's a guy named, uh, Jose... or, as he's called on the blog that's now down, uh, the "Archive Guy". Uh, I got in contact with him whenever I noticed that there were changes happening on the Lunar Children website that didn't seem culty. Um... all I really know about him is, uh, basically shit that he already said in his one blog post which is, uh, he's just got some friends who were friends of friends who had relatives, I guess, in the Lunar Children, and I guess there was like a big sorta cataclysmic event for them that occurred and they all disappeared, so these, like, people of distant relation are just trying to figure out what the fuck happened there and he's just their friend, and they don't know how to do fucking anything with computers so he's just kinda managing the salvaged network content off of the, uh... I guess, oddly enough, this, uh, server that was actually inside of that, uh... that old, rundown fishery. I don't know, anybody that pays attention I guess might remember I mentioned some computers that were there that seemed like they were actually working and turns out, hey they were actually working, and they were apparently actually hosting these websites. I don't know, maybe... maybe that's just news to me, and uh... some of you people out there somehow already knew that. But, uh, that's news to me and that's kinda fucking weird. Um... But yeah, right now they're offline because, uh, he's just having some financial issues - Jose. Um, I don't know if I'm supposed to be saying his real name, but, uh... He's just having some financial issues, so he can't manually host himself. Um... A little too much on his electric bill, I guess. But, uh... Yeah - that's basically what's going on with that. Um, he's just trying to, like, prune the content and, nice guy that he is, he said of course he'll be- I'll be first to be informed if he finds, like, anything new. Seeing as this- seeing the tie-in pretty close to me for a lot of weird reasons. Um... other guy I'm in contact with, uh..."

I've - I've been making a handful of friends there, actually. A lot of them, uh, not like the most clear English speakers, but that's actually okay. But, uh... Yeah, uh, Tony... I guess wants to come hang out. I guess, uh... he said that he, like, has experience with the kinds of issues I'm dealing with here, whatever the fuck that means. But... You know, I've - I've been basically a hermit for about seven or so years, save for like associates with employees at jobs, so fuck it. I haven't, like, had any serious serious reason in the last year or so to believe I'm still actively being stalked by a cult, so why do I need to act like one of those like "targeted individuals" bastards. I wanna have friends, so you know, I'm just gonna let this Tony guy come on over. Maybe he wants to kill me, I don't know. I know nothing about this guy. Tyler: "-here to, uh... over there, like... in front of my house. But, uh... I don't know if it's limited to short distances, I don't know if there's a way to, uh, control it. I - I kinda feel half fucking retarded because I mean it's - it's just a fucking construction sign. I'm talking about it like it's some kinda machine, but, uh... "Detour". This page was titled "case file" and contained the image that rapidly flashed photos of an old house titled "hh.gif". This page also contained a piano theme titled "mater.mp3", which is Latin for "Mother". The mentions of "mother" and the contents of "hh.gif" seem to imply that these photos are the ones Yuukichan took.
At an unknown time, players discovered that the audio file "mater.mp3" contained a voice whispering "stop" at the end in reverse.

Mercury 6:01 PM: "I belive everytime someone or something does a choice, no matter the % ratio, it creates a new timeline with the opposite result of it. Imagine there are 2 people, 1 trying to marry the other. Example: 50% of the other person saying yes to something, 50% of the other person saying no to something Now we have 2 timelines, the Yes timeline, and the No timeline. If we continue, we could have a third and fourth timeline Example: After this person says yes to something, it rectifies to no. After this person says no to something, it rectifies to yes. Now we have 4 timelines. Time is really old, a lot of things has happen, imagine the number of timelines currently active in this reality. Now, years later, imagine there is a third person who is the son of those 2 people (from the Yes timeline, and the Yes rectified timeline). For some reason, it decies to make his mother say no, just by curiosity. It goes to the past, convinces his mother to say no (just cruious note: another timeline has been created where the mother ignores the son and he fails) Ok she says no and they never spoke again, what happens to this son, he dissapears? Nope. His timeline has dissapeared, but there is no reason for him to dissapear, he is a bunch of atoms not connected to that timeline any longer. And even if he could recreate the timeline again, if he goes to that new timeline, he would encounter himself but from that timeline, he would need to wait and see if that guy would return to the past, but that would mean that if that second himself sucessed, the timeline where he is right now would be deleted along him. the sad story about time travel is that if you ever try to change time, time will punish you deleting your world."

nephalem 8:04 PM: "en 2017 empezó todo... un amigo mio empezó a actuar de manera muy extraña durante un tiempo, comenzó a hablar solo y se ponía muy nervioso de un momento a otro por nada... un tiempo después,yo empecé a tener unos sueños extraños sobre unas personas sosteniendo un libro mientras decían palabras extrañas, parecían estar en trance... y de unas entidades que nos observaban... entonces despertaba en medio de la noche... no podía moverme... ni gritar... yo empese a sentir una presencia muy pesada... luego, abro los ojos y una mujer al frente mio... mirándome fijamente... gritaba... sierro los ojos y solo puedo escuchar campanas en mi cabeza... era insoportable... luego cobro valor y me muevo un poco... pero no pasa nada... intento dormir... y despierto en el dia... esto siguió pasando todas las noches... y decidí evitar dormir... intente investigar en internet sobre lo que me pasaba... resulto paralisis del sueño... pero era diferente... esta "parálisis" me empeso a dar en pleno dia... mientras veía tv o caminaba... siempre la misma alucinación... unos días después la falta de sueño me estaba afectando...empese a escuchar susurros... pero no se que me decían... un día en el colegio mi amigo hizo algo que me pareció muy extraño... fue al bosque (lo seguí) y lo vi con los ojos cerrados con la mano extendida mientras pronunciaba algo extraño...me vio, e inmediatamente se fue... en ese bosque pude sentir algo extraño...parecido a lo que sentía cuando me daba parálisis... al día siguiente al final de las clases... el me llamo... lo salude y luego extendió su brazo y me dio algo... me dijo: "esto es energía... tu veras lo que haces con ella" y yo le dije: what the fuck? ... sonrió y luego se fue yo simplemente cerré mi brazo y me fui..."

+nephalem 8:04 PM: "en 2017 empezó todo... un amigo mio empezó a actuar de manera muy extraña durante un tiempo, comenzó a hablar solo y se ponía muy nervioso de un momento a otro por nada... un tiempo después,yo empecé a tener unos sueños extraños sobre unas personas sosteniendo un libro mientras decían palabras extrañas, parecían estar en trance... y de unas entidades que nos observaban... entonces despertaba en medio de la noche... no podía moverme... ni gritar... yo empese a sentir una presencia muy pesada... luego, abro los ojos y una mujer al frente mio... mirándome fijamente... gritaba... sierro los ojos y solo puedo escuchar campanas en mi cabeza... era insoportable... luego cobro valor y me muevo un poco... pero no pasa nada... intento dormir... y despierto en el dia... esto siguió pasando todas las noches... y decidí evitar dormir... intente investigar en internet sobre lo que me pasaba... resulto paralisis del sueño... pero era diferente... esta "parálisis" me empeso a dar en pleno dia... mientras veía tv o caminaba... siempre la misma alucinación... unos días después la falta de sueño me estaba afectando...empese a escuchar susurros... pero no se que me decían... un día en el colegio mi amigo hizo algo que me pareció muy extraño... fue al bosque (lo seguí) y lo vi con los ojos cerrados con la mano extendida mientras pronunciaba algo extraño...me vio, e inmediatamente se fue... en ese bosque pude sentir algo extraño...parecido a lo que sentía cuando me daba parálisis... al día siguiente al final de las clases... el me llamo... lo salude y luego extendió su brazo y me dio algo... me dijo: "esto es energía... tu veras lo que haces con ella" y yo le dije: what the fuck? ... sonrió y luego se fue yo simplemente cerré mi brazo y me fui..."
