The Truth Arc is the fourth arc of Johnisdead. This arc began on July 3rd, 2016 and ended on January 1st, 2017. This arc saw the return of the Moon Children website Youshouldnthavedonethat.net as players witnessed events from the year 2010, exploring more of the cult's dark history. The return of Youshouldnthavedonethat.net resulted in many veteran players returning to the community. Originally, the fact that this arc was a part of Johnisdead was kept secret, resulting in many players believing this was the return of Jadusable's original ARG.

Notice:

It's important to remember that the Moon Children and the Lunar Children are two separate groups.
The Moon Children were housed in the Orchard, owned the site Youshouldnthavedonethat.net, and were led by Mr. D - an entity heavily implied to be Tenebris.
The Lunar Children were housed in the fishery, owned the site Lunarchildren.com, and were led by Patrem.
This arc mainly focuses around the Moon Children.
For convenience sake, we will often be referring to "Youshouldnthavedonethat.net" as "YSHDT.net" throughout this timeline.

July 3rd, 2016

  • At 12:00 PM, players discovered that "http://www.youshouldnthavedonethat.net", the website owned by the Moon Children that was used during Jadusable's ARG, was once again active. This site had previously been owned by the "GoChina" after not being renewed by Jadusable. The site now featured a generic login page that read "Sign in to GoChina". target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the login page for YSHDT.net had updated. The page now read "Sign in to The Moon Children". target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that YSHDT.net had reverted to how it appeared during Jadusable's ARG. A brief summary of the content discovered on YSHDT.net during Jadusable's ARG is as follows:

  • Search - Links to a search page that allowed players to quickly scour the site. (Link)

Notice:

To avoid any confusion, it's important to note that YSHDT.net operated on a three day cycle. This means that on the night of the third day, the players were required to "reset" the site by submitting the Song of Time. This would revert the site to how it was three days prior, often with small changes.
The players were essentially experiencing alternate timeline versions of the same website whenever a new cycle began.

For convenience sake, we will be referring to most YSHDT.net pages as their casual name rather than their entire URL.

Summary

  • Chris is still alive. This confirms that each cycle of YSHDT.net is a separate timeline, since Chris was killed and ascended during the original cycle of YSHDT.net.
  • The Moon Children were attempting to set up a page containing testimonials from past Moon Children, but Chris accidentally lost the testimonials.
  • The guestbook is displaying comments from six years in the future. This is because players from the current year (2016) are commenting on YSHDT.net, which is still in 2010.

Summary

  • Two Moon Children, Rem and David, discuss Matt. In this conversation, they are using Matt's Moon Child alias - Rodney R.
  • Matt supposedly killed his adoptive father as a rite of passage to join the Moon Children. It was previously stated by Jarilo that Matt killed Kelbris to join the Moon Children. This means that Kelbris adopted Matt at some point, making Matt Ben's adopted brother.

Summary

Summary

  • Spencer tells the players that he is not able to give them the login information for The Truth.
  • Spencer claims that, on Sunday, Kelbris will wake up and "change" Matt somehow - likely leading to him killing and transcending Spencer and Alex under Tenebris's control.
  • Spencer describes Tenebris as a "parasite of the body and soul", claiming it requires those of others to present itself.

Summary

  • The Moon Child Rem claims he saw Kelbris at Rosa's door. After this, Rosa seemingly disappeared.

  • At 2:40 PM, players discovered that the giant page had returned. The audio "D.ogg" was playing once again.
  • At 3:00 PM, players discovered that the giant page had once again disappeared.
  • At an unknown time, the favicon of YSHDT.net changed to an image of a child wearing a gas mask and pointing titled "LOGGAME.jpg". target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the image "LOGGAME.jpg" contained text hidden within its code that read "The puppet was merely a medium for the wisdom that must be spread. His borrowed son shall be a tool to bring the four and open the gate. His blood son is the sacrifice to give It form in this realm. Why is he smiling".
  • At 3:40 PM, players discovered that the guestbook had reappeared on the front page of YSHDT.net. Comments left on the guestbook now required approval from an administrator before being published.
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the "R page" had been removed.
  • At 6:44 PM, players discovered the audio file "Watching_you.ogg". This file contained audio recorded from a livestream made by the player "The Goon". The audio file played the following: "(Knocking) "I told you to stop--" (Knocking) "Uh, search there, Alex and--" (Knocking) ((Unintelligible)) "Kai, Where’d you find this?" (Knocking) (Some sort of whistle or heavy breath)".
  • At 7:33 PM, players discovered that the front page of YSHDT.net began automatically playing the audio file "Watching_you.ogg".
  • At 7:35 PM, players discovered that the audio file "Watching_you.ogg" had been deleted.
  • At 7:45 PM, players discovered that the front page of YSHDT.net had its' audio file replaced with the image "15423.gif". This image also appeared above the guestbook for a short time. target=_blank target=_blank
  • At an unknown time, players discovered that the audio file "Line_.ogg" contained text hidden within its coding that read "This giant is merely a puppet. I require one who may wear the mask.". target=_blank

  • At 9:40 PM, the player Moondancer emailed Matt with the message "Is this Rosa? What happened to Matt?".
  • At 10:12 PM, players discovered that Tyler's contact page now hid the text "If you see this, I promise I" in its source code. target=_blank

Summary

  • Link fends off Dark Link in the Temple of Time before playing the "Song of Time". This is meant to symbolize our Link, Tyler, submitting the Song of Time to reset the cycle before the end of the third day.

  • At 12:15 AM, the text "Sign in to The Moon Children" on the YSHDT.net sign-in page changed several times. Most of these changes were in response to messages sent by the players in their Skype group. target=_blank

  • At 1:10 PM, the YSHDT.net sign-in page began responding to players' messages more directly. A brief conversation with this entity took place.

7/6/16 - Sign-In Page Chat - YSHDT.net

Summary

  • The entity speaking is a spirit being used by Tenebris that has briefly broken free.
  • The entity describes Tyler as "Link, It, Redeemer, Destroyer".
  • When asked who the "dark link" is, the entity simply responds with "Link".
  • When asked what they are waiting for, the entity claims they wish for "the end", or "freedom".
  • The entity claims that the four giants are the keys to access The Truth.
  • The entity says that ocarina powers submitted in the guestbook effects the entire site, while ones submitted to the four giants effects that specific giant.
  • The entity briefly describes the four giants:
  • The first giant, Doug, is currently "outside of this place in this time", but he will be called when the time is right.
  • The second giant, Alex, is suffering because he was the one who "beckoned" Tenebris by playing the Majora's Mask cartridge.
  • The third giant, Specner, is "waiting a victim of g2’s creator" and suffering for being a former Moon Child.
  • The four giant, Kelbris, is described as Patrem's flesh, implying some there's form of separation between Kelbris and Patrem.
  • The entity claims that those who ascend simply become fodder for Luna and that any power gained from ascension is false.
  • The entity claims that the players will gain more information when "two R's" come. It describes one R, Rosa, as a seer, while the other R is a false prophet.
  • Tenebris later regains control of himself and ends the conversation after taunting the players.
