The <b>Crescent Moon Necklace</b> is a pivotal item within [[Johnisdead]]. While the true purpose of the necklace is unknown, it has been heavily sought over in the past, hinting towards its importance.

<h2>History</h2>
[[Tyler]] was first seen wearing the Crescent Moon Necklace in the video [[Fun night with john and kevin]] on May 21st, 2015. On September 16th, 2015, the necklace makes an appearance in [[Rosa|Rosa's]] video [[fortune.webm]], where it is seemingly used to correlate with "<span class="canquote">crest</span>" in the quote "<span class="canquote">The man with the crest</span>" in relation to Tyler. Shortly after this, a message from Kevin appears in-which he confirms he possesses the Crescent Moon Necklace.<ref>Kevin possessing the necklace, here referred to as a "crest", can be found [[Johnisdead_Arc#September_16th.2C_2015|here]].<ul><li><i>"I have the damn trinket she gave him"</i></li><li><i>Rosa: "The man with the crest..."</i></li><li><i>Photos of the necklace Carla gave Tyler appear on screen.</i></li></ul></ref> On November 5th, 2015, players discovered a thread on the [[Lunar Children Forums]] revealing that a [[Lunar Child]] named [[Hina616]] accidentally stole the Crescent Moon Necklace from the location where the [[Blood Moon Ritual]] took place. Shortly afterwards, she was forced to return it. Due to the timestamps on the Lunar Children Forums being corrupted, it's unknown when exactly in 2015 this took place.<ref>Hina616 briefly coming to possess the necklace can be found [[The_Truth_Arc#November_5th.2C_2015|here]].<ul><li><i>Hina616: "I went to the place I was told about that the blood moon ritual was performed in. I was hoping maybe I could use some of the power there, left over from the ceremony to make contact with someone from beyond this parallelos and gain knowlege. I think I failed -_-;'But I did find this cool necklace, I was wondering if it belonged to anyone who was here for the ritual?"</i></li><li><i>Jarilo333: "That necklace actually looks pretty familiar, if I recall we had a member who was given the name lunaris draco after attaining certain rank. However I also recall her turning her back on us and running away. Not much else to say really, other than the thing being identical from my memory."</i></li><li><i>Ezekiel_thoth333: "Two things right now, how did you find that location on your own, and how did you find that necklace? Also this is being reported to the elders as we speak, you may or may not be reprimanded."</i></li><li><i>MattR: "Hina you are most certainly going to be in a great deal of trouble, you will go immediately to the fishery location and you will leave that necklace there inside the building tonight. Upon your return to us you will immediately receive your punishment for this offense."</i></li><li><i>Hina616: "But that place is really scary at night and I don't wanna go there alone DX"</i></li><li><i>MattR: "This thread is closing now, discussion of this topic shall cease immediately. Hina follow my instructions or face termination. You do not wish to anger Mother or Father! Goodnight to you my brethren."</i></li></ul></ref> 

On [[Undecim Nocte]] 2015, Tyler was rescued from the Lunar Children by the players, warping him back to his home. At some point, he regained possession of his necklace - as seen in the video [[I am doing just fine]].<ref>Tyler regaining possession of his necklace can be found [[The_Truth_Arc#November_11th.2C_2015|here]].<ul><li><i>"Uh, hey guys, uh, just- just wanted to make a quick video and just, uh, let you all know I'm doing okay and it's been a while since I put anything out. Um... uh, yeah, everything's good, everything's g-going just fine. Um... uh, I found my necklace, by the way."</i></li></ul></ref> One day later, the players summoned [[Helper]] and had him deliver a camera to Tyler and take the Crescent Moon Necklace away from him. Helper agreed to do so and left. On November 30th, 2015, [[Thoth]] ranted about the failure of Undecim Nocte 2015. Here, he implied that Tyler regaining his necklace was a mistake and that [[Hunter]] specifically should be asked about it.<ref>Hunter being connected to the necklace can be found [[The_Truth_Arc#November_30th.2C_2015|here]].<ul><li><i>"Also someone be sure to talk to Hunter about what happened with the necklace, that was our fucking ace in the hole, I dont understand how it got back into our hands like that but just letting the harbinger yank him out of here with it was a fucking mistake."</i></li></ul></ref> The necklace made a brief appearance in the video [[5646]] along with a shot of a cloaked figure. 

In 2020, several old Lunar Children IRC chats from years prior were discovered via [[JanusVR]]. One of these included [[Eddie]] blaming Hina616 for the failure of Undecim Nocte 2015, believing that her interference with the necklace somehow caused it.<ref>Eddie blaming Hina616 for Undecim Nocte's failure by messing with the necklace can be found [[Our_Horizon_Arc_Pt2#April_27th.2C_2020|here]].<ul><li><i>9:34:42 PM Edddie22: "The cunt just waltzes right into the holy grounds and takes the necklace like it ain't no thing??"</i></li><li><i>9:34:48 PM Edddie22: "The same necklace that mysteriously got misplaced during 11/11 when everything went to shit?"</i></li><li><i>9:34:53 PM Edddie22: "Its no wonder the elders started panicing, I bet they knew shit was already fucked as soon as she posted that photo."</i></li><li><i>9:35:12 PM SheepDog: "And what exactly are you basing this off of?"</i></li><li><i>9:35:24 PM SheepDog: "All kinds of crazy shit went down that day, just because Hina touched the necklace doesnt mean she's responsible"</i></li></ul></ref> Another IRC chat amongst the [[Elder Children]] reveals that, at some point, [[Helper]] was killed and the Crescent Moon Necklace was retrieved from his body.
